Fantastic churros - Edit
I’ve not had churros since before I went vegan (10 years ago), until today! Was super happy to come across a place that does 100% vegan churros. They were absolutely fantastic and made my day.
Read moreThank you guys! Also the guy who served me was super friendly and welcoming. I will be back to enjoy the burgers and other snacks some day!
I hope you guys find a way to being milk shakes to this location or move to a place which would allow for milkshakes! I would travel an hour on the tube just for your milkshakes! I’ve had them before in Brighton, but they aren’t available in your london branch 😢

So so good - Edit
Chicken loaded waffle fries are sick, all the burgers I've tried there are 10/10, gravy slaps, fried jalapenos and previously fried gherkins absolutely hit the spot

Love love loved it! - Edit
Great vegan junk food and loads of options. Very tough to decide. We thought the cauli bites were the best of all we tried. I also loved the mini Mac n cheese with crispy onions. The frickles were fun too but started to feel about overloads on fried food. The smash burger was really nice as well. I wish we had one of these closer to us!

Good prices, but there are better options elsewhere - Edit
I got the Big Oowee burger and cluckin' fries. I also tried some of Purp's Flamin' Hot Clucker and garlic butter waffle fries. We also shared some onion rings, Chick'n popcorn with garlic mayo, and chilli cheese nuggets.
Read moreThe Big Oowee burger was quite nice. It tasted very mild, but not in a bad way.
The Flamin' Hot Clucker was very nice. Surprisingly spicy.
The Chick'n popcorn was delicious, I could have eaten a bucket of these! The garlic mayo was also very tasty.
The chilli cheese nuggets were the nicest I have ever had. Usually the batter of these is very bland but the outside of these was very seasoned, they tasted almost southern fried. And the cheese was gloopy like melted cheese rather than a cheese sauce. They were also less spicy than any other ones I have had in the past. I'm making them sound unappealing but they were the star of the show for me!
The onion rings were only okay, very bland and tasteless.
The garlic butter waffle fries were okay. I didn't taste much garlic off of them.
The cluckin' fries were nice, but incredibly salty. I'm not sure if it was from the chicken or the cheese (I'm pretty sure it wasn't the gravy) but something made them too salty for me, which was a pity because apart from that they were nice.
The portions were good and filling, especially for the price, but I wasn't blown away and I don't think I'd bother eating from this chain again unless I had no other options. There are far better options available in London.

Tasty burger, but sides were a bit of a let down. - Edit
We ordered a lot, a side of chick'n popcorn with garlic mayo, onion rings and chilli cheese nuggets.
Read moreFor my burger I chose flamin hot clucker with crispy onions and for chips I chose dirty waffle fries garlic butter due to a gnomic mishap when ordering.
The burger was really good, the deep fried jalapenos made a big difference. The waffle fries were okay, they tasted kind of buttery but I couldn't really get any garlic taste off them.
The chicken popcorn was okay the garlic dip was nice, the onion rings were good but a little too greasy.
I wasn't really impressed with the chilli cheese nuggets. They reminded me of the Aldi ones.
Gnome child ordered a big oowee vegan burger and dirty clucking fries.
I tried some of GCs burger and chips and both were very tasty.
If I was ordering from here again I would stick to burger and regular fries.
Pros: Burger, Garlic dip

Excellent - Edit
Definitely the best fast food ever. Everything was sooo good, from the garlic fries to the chili cheese ball not to mention the popcorn chicken. Really well made. We took the swiss burger (chicken) and the double bacon (beef). They were both delicious. Absolutely recommended

Generous burgers and delicious sauces. Personally I don’t think the “chicken” tastes as good as many other meat alternatives but this is a pretty good spot for vegan junk food.

The burgers here were as yummy as always - but the Christmas poutine was particularly enjoyable, not the best I've ever tried (that was at a now closed restaurant in Deptford) but good to have nonetheless. This franchise needs a milkshake machine though!!

Run, don't walk. - Edit
I came across this place in the Brixton village and I'm so glad I did. I had the big bacon Swiss chicken sandwich and it was absolutely amazing! Maybe the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. It comes with a vegan bacon mayo, smoked gouda, hash brown, and crispy bacon. I also appreciated that even though it's clearly a vegan junk food spot, they have another menu with lighter fare for people who aren't looking for what I was clearly after this afternoon, lol. I hope this place sees a lot of success in its future!

Oowee Vegan - Edit
Did somebody say, hash brown, vegan cheese, sauce, and burger patty option? Yes please! I really loved this burger so much and thought the idea of having a hash brown inside the burger was genius. Nevertheless, it could have been better because the hash brown was cold. 😞
Read moreIt took ages to receive my food and I would have expected all of the items to be hot. But this was not the case. Even my waffle fries were on the lukewarm side. I also ordered a pot of gravy for the waffle fries, which actually helped the fries taste better because it was hot warmed the waffle fries up. But I personally did not like the flavor of the gravy enough to order it again and believe the waffle fries seasoning helped them stand up on their own without the need for gravy or other flavors.

Great food but not a fan of the location - Edit
This is the 3rd Oowee I’ve been to and the food is always excellent. I gave the other locations a 5 and the food here was just as good, but unfortunately I’ve given this branch a 4 due to the location. It’s situated in Brixton Village Market and to get to it you have to pass several fresh fish and butcher stalls which was really smelly and disgusting. The restaurant itself is also directly opposite a seafood restaurant, which thankfully was closed when we visited, but still felt very uncomfortable to sit across from. It may seem harsh to downgrade Oowee for this as it’s not their fault, and arguably is a good thing as it’s bringing some vegan relief to a very meat-heavy area, but it just diminished the experience a lot for me. If I was picking between the Dalston and Brixton branches, I would go to Dalston just for this reason, as the rest was great. The staff were lovely and helpful (even giving me a free pot of sauce after I came back to buy some after realising I’d forgotten to order it initially) and the food was delicious as ever. We went for the limited edition ‘Ocean Burger’, limited edition ‘F!sh N’ Chips’ and a Mac n’ Cheese. I was more of a fan of the ‘F!sh N’ Chips’ but my fiancée absolutely loved the burger as well. The ‘fish’ used in both meals was from Omni and was really impressive. The texture was excellent and the flavour was so good – one of the best fish alternatives we’ve tasted! The chips were also really nice and the mac n’ cheese was great as always. The garlic mayo was also really tasty. I’ve tried quite a few vegan garlic mayos and they can be really hit and miss but this was a hit. All in all the food was great and in a different location I’d have given it a 5.

Burgers were banging - Edit
This was my first visit to the Brixton branch - and it definitely won’t be my last! The staff were very friendly, and I got my food quickly. I got the Flamin’ hot clucker, and it was one of the best vegan burgers I’ve had. It was £12.50 for the burger, chips and a drink - which isn’t cheap, but it hit the spot and it was filling. It was really nice sitting in Brixton Village eating this fresh.
