Organic Excellence…! - Edit
When we were in Lisbon, we couldn’t resist checking out the vegan spots on Happy Cow. One of the top-rated restaurants we found was Organi Chiado, which is just a short walk from our place in the Bairro-Alto. So, we decided to go for lunch and see what all the fuss was about!
Read moreThe place was already packed when we got there, but the inside had a cool, sophisticated vibe. Our server was super friendly and attentive. Of course, all that sightseeing had made us thirsty, so we started with a couple of super cold Super Bocks.
For our main course, we shared an appetizer of bread and pâtés. Oh my gosh, the spreads were amazing! There were three different ones: Basil Tofu, Olives-Walnut, and Peanut Butter-Apple. All of them were delicious, but the Basil Tofu was my favorite. It was so refreshing and smooth, and it was unlike anything I’d ever tasted before — not made out of tofu, anyway.
Organi Chiado has two different specials that change (I believe) every day, and on our first visit, we both couldn’t resist the Braised Tofu (served with lime rice, a side salad, and tempura veggie crisp). It was incredible! Hands down, the best food we’d had up to that point. And the prices were surprisingly reasonable, considering how fancy the place was.
We left feeling totally satisfied and made a mental note to come back to Chiado Organi soon. But guess what? The very next day, we went to another vegan restaurant that was a total disaster. We were so hungry and disappointed that we ran straight back to Organi to save the day! (This time around, again, we shared a larger order of the bread and pâtés; I did cheesy penne pasta; Jay the lasagna. And, too, we shared a pecan pie with house-made ice cream. O.M.G…!!!) And not only did it save us, but we also got to catch up with our friend from the day before, which was really nice.
Simply awesome!!!
Pros: Food!!!, Service!!!, Anbiance!!!
Cons: Loved it ALL…!!!

Fresh and nutritious - Edit
This was our first stop on our trip to Lisbon. Cute place with outdoor seating. I had the roasted veg salad with quinoa - super tasty and very filling. I actually could not finish the full salad. We also had the creamy pasta which was full of flavour. The flavour of both dishes was really fresh and again, we felt totally nourished.

Favorite meal in Lisbon! - Edit
2026-08-19: ORIGINAL POST
Read moreAlthough the outdoor seating in the front was nearly full, we were able to grab the last table outdoors and be seated right away. We noticed it felt cooler temperature-wise outdoors even on a hot summer afternoon than sitting indoors. We didn’t realize there is a really nice outdoor seating area in the back as well.
This spot changes their menu in a daily basis using fresh vegetables. We happily enjoyed consuming the following:
- Mango Lassi: delicious! So excited to see they offer a vegan version by default
- Tofu Thai: very good flavoring but wish it was a slightly bigger portion size
- Penne Pasta: AMAZING vegan pasta with some pesto sauce. This was my favorite dish in Lisbon so far! Wish I could have this everyday 😍
- Creamy Sweet Rice: utterly delicious rice pudding; delightfully sweet and cinnamon-y. Perfect texture. One of my favorites types of vegan dessert
Hope we can come back to try more of their rotating menu!
My only critique is that the server automatically selected payment in USD and didn’t give us an option to select euros (so we ended up paying more given the higher conversion rate).
2026-08-20: UPDATE
We came back for dinner and ordered our favorite items from the menu (Penne Pasta, Mango Lassi, Creamy Sweet Rice). We also tried the following:
- Watermelon Soup: I didn’t realize it was a gazpacho but it was refreshing and simple nonetheless
They also provided complementary sample of their mango lassi with the bill. We remembered to explicitly ask to pay via credit card in euros this time, which went smoothly.

Nice relaxed spot - Edit
We thought the menu looked a little uninspired for a dedicated vegan restaurant, but everything was well executed and portions were generous.
Read moreWe had a vegan pate assortment with bread followed by a roasted Hokkaido squash, braised tofu and a bean burger. Everything was excellent.

Underwhelming - Edit
I went here after arriving so it was gone 10pm when I ordered. I went for a ceasar salad and it was huge, but it just felt like a bowl of lettuce, with not much else going on.
Read moreI asked for an orange juice which had something else in it so it wasn't very nice.
The menu changes daily so I didn't get to try the lasagna which I'd hoped to.
Pros: Huge portions
Cons: Boring food, lacking flavour

Please improve - Edit
Pheew. This one needs urgent improvement before it can wear HappyCow’s “Top rated Restaurant in Lisbon” badge.
Read moreWe were greeted by a short waiting time before a table for two was available. Unfortunately, some guests that came after us in line were allocated the next table before we were. This turned into a confusing situation with staff lacking a bit of situational awareness.
The menu appears to change every day. This time, it was super boring. It consisted of a veggie burger, soup, lasagne, a pumpkin dish, salad, and a pasta dish. All seemed to be drowned in a bad plant-parmesan.
We ordered the veggie burger and ceasar salad.
The veggie burger dish was a mix between a burger dish without a bun, and a salad. It is served both with rice and potato chips, which is very odd. The lentil/bean patty itself was very tasty. The pesto on the small salad on the side was also very good! The rest of the plate was mid.
The ceasar salad was the most lousy ceasar salad we have ever tried. It had no crunch to it at all, unlike what it is supposed to have.
When asking for the bill, every guest first had to wait for a small complimentary mango drink, before they could actually pay. It seems very odd that complimentary items are provided just before the bill is to be paid with potential tips… I suggest providing complimentary drinks when guests have ordered and are waiting for their food to be served, instead of when the guests want to leave.
Seating outside is quite tight and cramped, so allowing guests to smoke can really ruin the experience for non-smokers trying to enjoy their food. I suggest making the area smoke free.
Overall, pretty bad with improvement in all aspects needed.

Great choice, large portions - Edit
Husband and I shared the pate’s which were delicious. Then he had the seitan steak and I had the vegetable salad. Both portions were generous, only disadvantage was that we were too full to try any deserts! Service was also incredible.

Amazing food, rated 4 stars as the lady who served us was very rude.
Read moreVisited twice, the first time a guy was serving us and was very polite and recommended other vegan restaurants. Second time, the lady wouldn’t let us sit on a large table (there were no other customers and we ordered A LOT!) she was very rude, we were told we HAD to sit on a table for 2. We ordered so much we had no space. A single woman who was dining alone was then sat on a table for 4 after us. All a bit strange

We had the incredible soup of the day (carrot!) and the grilled veggie quinoa bowl, but it seems pretty clear to me from just that much that this is top-notch food. Beautifully presented, amazing flavor, combinations, truly inspired plant-based craft. Can't wait to return!

Delicious, google opening hours wrong - Edit
We had the Caesar salad and the tofu plate. Both really delicious, only downside were the rice bread croutons like rocks. Lots of grated Parmesan in the salad and tofu. The pecan pie for dessert was very good as well. There’s 2 outdoor eating areas, (inside decor is pretty dated), and staff are lovely. Both google and their own website have wrong hours. It closes after lunch at 3:30, and reopens at 6:30

Super leckeres Essen.

Hands Down BEST VEGAN FOOD IN LISBON - Edit
We came here about 10pm and Wesley greeted and sat us right away.
Read moreHe was so knowledgeable about everything from farming practices, Seasonal foods, culture diversity, and we felt like a regular by the time we ordered.
I ordered the pasta and vegetable soup, my husband the salad of the day.
Soup was great and you can taste the quality of food. The nutrient density in the produce allows the flavors to come through as they should.
My pasta was delicious and the salad of the day was the show stopper.
It changes daily based on seasonal ingredients but was more a warm salad due to the cooked veggies. The dressing brought it all together.
If you want real food that is quality and delivers on taste in every meal this is where you go.
We’ll be back to try it all.
