Touristy but good - Edit
The place is quite busy and touristy, which means it's also a tad expensive. We had the savory "veggie" pancakes, which are vegan, and they were very tasty (although maybe a bit undercooked on one side?)

SHOULD BE NO STARS - Edit
Wow was this place horrible. The Dutch pancake was fine, but I saw other places that served vegan ones and I wish I went there instead. To start, service was horrible as the employees seemed confused that we were even eating there of wanting to pay. They picked up our dishes and still didn’t offer the check.
Read moreANYWAYS the real problem was the charges for bathroom use and water. Both of these things should be free to everyone ESPECIALLY PAYING CUSTOMERS.
Also weirdly had Anne Franks face along with their other silly art and it felt very insensitive to say the least.
TLDR do not go here.

Delicious and a whole separate menu for allergens/vegan options - Edit
Staff were helpful there's a separate clearly labelled menu in English. It's expensive but tasty so worth it in my opinion. Great options

Good - Edit
I enjoyed my banana pancake with strawberries, but for the price it was it wasn’t anything super special. There weren’t as many vegan options as I expected, though I’m glad they have a few. Coffee with oatmilk was pretty good. Oh, and the waitstaff brought us non-vegan stroopwaffles with our coffee despite everything we ordered being vegan, so it seemed careless (we thankfully looked at the ingredients on the wrapper).

Pancakes - Edit
Bright and airy interior with high ceilings - make sure to request the vegan menu and even if you are ordering off the vegan menu make sure to say you want something vegan… I ordered one of the savory options from the vegan menu clearly labeled vegan and the waitress was like “that’s not vegan but we can make it vegan” 🤔🤔🤔 well yes that is why I’m ordering off the vegan menu?? Kind of weird but ended up fine. The Dutch pancakes are big so you don’t need to order three to share between two people like I did 🙃 both the savory and sweet pancakes were okay. Not overwhelmingly good but not bad either. Cute place to spend any extra time you have prior to an Anne Frank Huis reservation.

Bad service - Edit
Walked in without knowing it was vegan and was delighted to see the options. Sat down and nobody served me and after 15 mins went to the till to order instead, to which they told me they were closed despite me seeing them seat another party! Disappointing but hope the food is good for people deciding to go.

Vegan / gf / lactose free pancakes - Edit
I had a vegan banana pancake at Pancakes Westermarkt, right next to the Anne Frank House. Went for my regular banana option as I prefer that over the savoury toppings.
Read moreThe pancake was a bit dry and not as thin as they normally come in. It was super filling however so you'll not be hungry afterwards. Banana pieces were all piled up in the center of the pancake and could have been spread out a bit more.
Staff wasn't very friendly and not helpful when we wanted to pay our bill. You also have to pay 0.50 euro cents if you want to use the washroom which is really ridiculous if you eat there as the pancakes aren't cheap...
Pros: Lots of toppings available, Multiple locations throughout Amsterdam
Cons: Staff not very friendly, Paid washrooms

Great to have vegan pancakes - service was unfriendly - Edit
This is very close to Anne Frank house. Nice outdoor seats. Great interior too. You can make your own pancake, effectively. Have a vegan, gluten free option for the base pancake. The staff were quite unfriendly. It was a very hot day and perhaps they were understaffed (so not their fault) but it impaired the experience.
