The carrot cake is simply to die for - Edit
I’m a regular at this consistently good vegan gem in the city. Their version of the burger is great, and their carrot cake is simply the best I’ve ever had

Great vegan cafe - Edit
lots of variety including soups, starters, entrees, smoothies, teas, and desserts. Sadly almost everything has oil in it. But I was able to get steamed kale and bok choy which was tasty.

Tasty vegan food and hearty portions - Edit
Lots of vegan choices, food was very tasty, and portions were large, especially for NYC. I had the chickpea fries for appetizers— it was very tasty but a bit spicy for me (menu did indicate that it had Indian spices) and was not oily at all. I had the pumpkin sandwich —it had a sweet flavor profile, but adding the tempeh (which was very savory) balanced it a lot. Spelt bread was fresh and hearty. Had a good selection of house-made vegan cakes and pasties, which I took home to share with my family.

I’ll probably be back - Edit
I got the miso tahini sandwich with added tempeh here before heading to JFK. I thought the miso tahini sauce would be more savory, but it was very sweet. The tempeh was pretty good though, and it held up well on the trip to the airport. I’ll probably be back to try more of their menu.

I Finally Found The Vegan Dessert To Fully Satisfy Me - Edit
I'm a lifelong chocoholic relatively new to veganism. So far, the vegan desserts I tried in the last year were decent (5-8/10) but not great. This streak of mediocrity ended when I tried the chocolate peanut butter cheesecake at Peacefood Cafe. Wow! 9/10. I did not have time to sit down for a full meal but I will soon and report back.

Delicious & Versatile Vegan Food - Edit
The food and upscale atmosphere of Peacefood gives the perfect melange of cozy and welcoming. I had the nachos, chickpea fries, “steak” with potatoes and green beans, a mouse tart slice and a chocolate cake slice. Everything was delicious and my favorite was the “stake” which had an incredible taste and texture. #Veganuary

Known for home-style global vegan cuisine with gluten-free options - Edit
Leaning into fall with @peacefoodnyc’s seasonal menu full of warm and hearty dishes. Nothing screams comfort food than a plate of steak, mashed potatoes, and string beans. I’m a whole foods, plant-based type of vegan so I did not order this special. But a taste of it from my friend’s plate had me shooketh. It had a deep, umami flavor. Clean. And the texture was natural. I want to say it was made out of mushroom. If you do know, please tell me. Else, I might just have to go back and order it for myself to find out. The mash and string beans just took it over the edge, with the potatoes soaking in that porcini mushroom gravy goodness and the sauteed beans adding a textured crunch. Layered in some sweets and closed the meal with a slice of the cashew cream cheesecake and peanut butter cheesecake served with a comforting mug of apple orange cider. Service was warm as always. It was a satisfying way to celebrate World Vegan Day.
