Good but not stunning - Edit
I like the location and the vibes. It can be pretty pricey at times but I’ve been here a few times just because I lived close by before.

Such a great place - Edit
As other reviewers have mentioned, the food is great. And a nice varied menu. I had miso wonton soup - awesome and with the perfect amount of spice - and a tahini sprout sandwich - nice and satisfying. Great buzz in the place which on a Monday late lunchtime was about half full. Good space between the tables - we’re not all crammed together. And the severs were so nice and helpful. Definitely recommend.

Tasty options for dieters too. - Edit
Don't get me wrong, Peacefood Cafe's menu has lots of "comfort" type dishes and desserts if you're not worried about calories.
Read moreBut unlike most vegan restaurants these days, it also has some extremely healthy offerings if you are watching what you eat. Yesterday I had a fantastic bowl, consisting of quinoa (brown rice was the other option) with a choice of three different vegetables. I got kale, Japanese pumpkin and broccoli. I felt like I had eaten something as healthy and tastier than i could make at home. And it has a tasty ginger dressing on the side.
The service was kind and lovely. And unlike most upscale vegan restaurants these days, the background music volume is reasonable rather than ear splitting.
Pros: Healthy with lower calorie options, Lovely service , Not too loud

Dauert, aber dann lecker - Edit
Leider hat es ewig gedauert, bis ich bedient wurde. Danach ging es aber recht schnell und es war auch lecker. Am besten sind die Kuchen, Cookies und Muffins! 😋

Cute and cozy - Edit
The food here was really warming and healthy. Love the selection of pastries and cakes! The food was a little over priced in my opinion, but the staff was great and so was the atmosphere. A great place to hangout! ✨❤️

Peacefood Cafe Great Vegan Choice - Edit
Wonderful selection of appetizers, main course, desserts, and drinks. No alcohol but some alcohol free options. Many raw vegan choices too. We had the plantain lasagna, grilled oyster mushrooms, and teriyaki with some dumplings to start! All excellent with a generous portion. Turmeric ginger latte was good but not piping hot but nothing to complain about for sure. #Veganuary

Excellent Food, Atmosphere and Service - Edit
Peacefood Cafe is everything you want a vegan cafe to be - clean, friendly and full of plentiful options.
Read moreThe outstanding nachos, smothered in cheese, guacamole and beans was topped with radishes. The dumplings, full of tofu and mushrooms had a lovely chewy texture which complemented the Thai sauce beautifully. The seitan panini was very good.
The selection of desserts was enormous. The raspberry crumble bar was decadent as was the large serving of carrot cake which was sweet but not overly so.
Pros: Many vegan options with homemade protein , Delicious food with variety , Excellent service

Smaller Portions, But Delicious Food. Relaxed Dining Atmosphere. - Edit
I've walked into this eatery several times before, so I'm aware that a daytime brunch / lunch is the perfect occasion for dining here.
Read moreI finally ordered some food (to-go) yesterday: the Japanese Pumpkin Sandwich and the Key Lime Pie. Though the sandwich was small, the flavors more than compensated for that. The caramelized onions reminded me of Korean barbeque flavors, a nostalgic taste experience I enjoyed, as I'm Korean and grew up with those flavors.
The key lime pie is well done: the lime flavor was tart and intense, so my first bite of this was a surprise. I liked that this dessert had an organic sweetness to it (not excessively sweet like many processed American desserts are). This is how all desserts should be!

Reliably good and a nice coffee/date spot - Edit
One of my go-to’s. Not everything on the menu is a total hit, but they have the best vegan nachos I’ve had, and am also a big fan of the wontons and the cheeseburger. Great coffee.

Beautiful desserts and food - Edit
Peacefood has some of the best vegan food in NYC and is a must if you're in the Union Square area. They have a mix of raw desserts (Key Lime Pie!!!), gluten-free baked desserts, and vegan but not GF baked desserts. Try the Fluffy Quinoa Salad, Chickpea fries, and Pumpkin Quiche. And don't forget the Grasshopper cookie, a mint chocolate sandwich cookie. They've been consistently good over many, many years, with no signs of slowing down. Prices are very reasonable for the neighborhood.

Saturday Lunch - Edit
We grabbed lunch here during a weekend trip. The chickpea fires were the best we ever had; they were what every other chickpea fry had tried to be. Then I got the Japanese Pumpkin sandwich and my husband got the Miso Tahini Sprout sandwich. Both were okay but neither something good enough to order again. I would visit again and try something else as a main and order at least one if not two orders of the chickpea fries.

Cons: Under seasoned sandwiches, Both sandwiches were messy
