Fun dinner with a friend - Edit
I enjoyed the potato soup Maitake mushrooms sandwich. My friend had the beet salad and we shared Brussel Sprouts and crabby cakes.

Much smaller portions than pictured - Edit
The food and service were excellent but the portions were a lot smaller than shown on the menu: this is false advertising. Specifically the blue cheese on the black and brown burger was a smear versus the large amount (looks like an inch) on the menu, the lasagna was about 1/2 the height as seen on the menu, and the brownie (as part of the ice cream and brownie) was about 1/2 the size. The food was excellent but expensive for what we got and I feel cheated. Unfortunately, this is enough for us not to return.

Cons: Food not as pictured in their menu, Small portions

It’s excellent yet you give it two stars? Sad. Support vegan and ethical places. Don’t take them down. Moreover the portions are just perfect.

Fantastic meal in the theater district - Edit
Looking for a great vegan meal before your show? This is the place! Food is delicious, service is quick and friendly, and atmosphere is perfect! Even went back after the show for dessert. And 100% of profits go to social justice causes.

Classy theater district restaurant - Edit
Everything we had was delicious. The lasagna was so good that it could pass for non-vegan. Prices are right for the vicinity

Great stop for fun vibes and burgers - Edit
We loved our trip here, they have a happy hour drink menu from 2-6 pm every day (you just have to sit at the bar), and the favorites were the burgers and the wings. My only piece of advice to the staff is to give clear and concise answers to questions (they had us move tables after checking twice back and forth from the bar to purchase from the happy hour menu). Overall a nice experience in Midtown.

SUPERB VEGAN RESTAURANT. HEART OF BROADWAY THEATRE DISTRICT - Edit
Excellent restaurant. Small space, great food. Their pot pie is top of my list. Lovely deserts. Very friendly staff. One of my all time (45 yrs vegan) favorite restaurants. A must when you are in NYC.

P.S. Kitchen - Edit
Excellent vegan blue cheeseburger, but quite expensive for such a small burger. To put this into context, this set me back about $25 with tax and tip and I only had a burger. I liked it, but not enough to go back and spend another $25, it was nice to try once. 😉🍔

I’m a visitor to NYC and so lucky I followed Happy Cow and came across this delightful restaurant. Yes - it’s a little pricey - but worth it!! You won’t regret it. This will be my ‘go to’ place for the rest of my stay.

Good choice in theater district - Edit
We met for an early dinner before my friends saw a play, actually in a theater on the same block! We were all very happy with our choices at PS Kitchen, thanks to well-informed quick and friendly service, delicious dishes and good wine sold by the glass . We had the cashew fettuccine, mushroom burger, golden beet salad and potato soup. The desserts sounded wonderful but we passed on them. The staff were happy to pack up any leftovers and got our friends out in good time for the play.

Incredible in Every Way! - Edit
What an amazing find! Well-curated selections that are super fresh, beautifully presented and delicious. Dined with an omnivore and started with sharing the golden beet salad and Brussel sprouts. We then had the impossible burrito and Buffalo chicken sandwich. Everything was so tasty and the portions were great. The desserts looked amazing….I wish we had room! I love that they had a non-alcoholic drink menu with more than just watery Heineken 0, plus a good selection of wines. The staff were wonderful. Our server, Oana, was the perfect balance of warmth and professionalism, and those bussing the tables were equally warm. So well-located for the theatre district and they are very aware of getting you to your show on time if that’s what you need. We will definitely be back. So grateful to have found this place on Happy Cow!!

Vegan delicious, good atmosphere - Edit
I was looking for a place with a nicer vibe during our trip to New York for a special occasion. Four of us came here, two vegan and two not. Everyone was happy. From the amazing Chikin Pot Pie to the Ceasar salad, all was well prepared, large portion and delicious . The fried maitake mushroom burger was incredible, on a pretzel roll with fries, yum!!

It's Great To Be Back - Edit
After 3 loooonnnng years, I was so happy to return to one of my favs here in NYC. The place was abuzz with fellow brunch connoisseurs, some of whom may have been here for a pre-show meal like me.
Read moreI ordered the P.S. Breakfast - Organic Scrambled Tofu, Sauteed Spinach, Smokey Portobello Mushrooms, Tomato Jam and Mini Corn Muffins, along with a new and different Mocktail - The Butterfly Lemonade: Fresh Made Lemonade Topped Lavender Butterfly Pea Tea (both pictured.)
The combined flavors on my enticingly plated breakfast were a delight - the smoky Portobello mushrooms were also slightly sweet, and in just the right proportion; the tofu scramble was savory and the spinach provided just the right balance all around. The mini muffins were moist enough, even without the tomato jam (which I found surprisingly appropriate in terms of consistency and flavor - go figure!) As far as the Butterfly Lemonade, (which did arrive a bit late, but I didn't mind) it was every bit as good as I'd anticipated, a tart, slightly sweet, delight which I enjoyed both during and after I cleaned my plate. 😆
No doubt I'll be returning again in the near future, not wanting to wait anywhere near as long as another 3 years!
Pros: The vibrant and upbeat atmosphere, Perfectly curated and cooked ingredients, Attentive and punctual service
