Good Ethiopian food! - Edit
I'll be honest, I've had better Ethiopian food in Dubai but I was craving some lentils and warming curries so Ras delivered. The staff is lovely and the vibes at night is bustling so a great place to go in a group - not so much as a solo diner

Awesome Ethiopian Fare un Beooklyn - Edit
What a fabulous whole-food plant-based late lunch after visiting the Brooklyn Museum. A refreshing change from too many vegan restaurants serving burgers snd mac & cheese.

Beautiful food and vibes - Edit
We had a delicious feast here today and couldn't recommend more highly. Really exquisite, tasty selection. We shared the two platters, the tibs, and had blueberry lavender kombucha. Wish we could stay in Brooklyn longer to come here again and try other dishes!

Beautiful Atmosphere - Edit
This is a great restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere for dining in and even sitting outdoor. The waitress and waiter were very attentive. They explained food options, and description of their delicious menu.. I enjoyed everything I ordered except the chips and guacamole felt the chip was super greasy. But overall enjoyed everything on my plate..

Very good 😊 - Edit
We had the kifto with turmeric rice and the ras tibs with injeera. Both dishes were really tasty and flavorful. For dessert, we had the tiramisu style cheesecake, which was lovely. The portions were a bit small, though.

It’s a shame they’re no longer fully vegan!

Hi, We are fully vegan and not sure why happy cow changed it to vegetarian. I tried to reach out but nobody got back to me.

Omg why are they now labeled as vegetarian? Aren’t they 100% plant based?

They are. I was about to report to happy cow to change. I asked and they said they were completely plant based.

Delicious but pricey - Edit
After having enjoyed Bersi’s eye-poppingly large platters that feed 3-4 people for $20-60 in total, not even Ras’s lunch special ($18 bowls) seemed like a good deal. I did prefer the collard greens at Ras over Bersi’s though. (Too bad I didn’t try the injera at Ras for a comparison.) All that said, I did enjoy the Bole Bowl: the crunchy soy crumbles were a fun textural element, and the avocado injected creaminess into the mix. FYI, they have a couple of beverages with honey: honey wine and hard kombucha.

Great Ethiopian Food - Edit
I had dinner here recently and everything was delicious, so flavorful. The staff were very nice as well. You can either order dishes to share with others (platters) or individual dishes to enjoy on your own.

Ethiopian Vegan Cuisine - Edit
While I wouldn't typically consider myself an Ethiopian food enthusiast, I must admit that this restaurant has pleasantly challenged my preconceptions. Their dishes were bursting with an array of flavors, each bite introducing me to a new and exciting culinary adventure.

Delicious squash sambusa - Edit
The staff and ambiance was great. We sat outside under heating lamps on a cooler November night and stayed warm.
Read moreI LOVED the squash sambusas. They were creamy and delicious.
We also got both of the platters. Both were delicious, but they were on par with other Ethiopian platters I've tried elsewhere. My husband and I both preferred the piassa platter (over the mercato platter), even though we usually like spicy and it did not seem spicy at all.
Pros: Squash sambusa, Amazing staff, Outdoor seating w/ heat lamps

Try the seitan tibs! - Edit
We came here with a couple friends and got the azifa app, mercato and piassa platters, ras special tibs (seitan) entree, dulet (mushroom) entree, and a side of hot sauce. Nothing was very spicy but it was still good. The azifa was served with injera chips and was not as flavorful as other azifa I’ve had but we still enjoyed it. The 2 platters were both good but none of the wots really stood out. They benefited by the addition of hot sauce. The seitan tibs was the overalls favorite and I highly recommend it for future visits.

Fantastic Ethiopian food - Edit
I love Ethiopian food and this spot is fantastic. All Ethiopian places have a good vegan section but it’s nice to have a dedicated vegan spot that makes vegan versions of some dishes that aren’t traditionally vegan. Nice vibe and cool staff too. Everything is great!

Fave restaurant in NYC - Edit
This has become my favorite restaurant in NYC, practically the only place I eat if not at home! The food is absolutely delicious and wholesome, you can taste the love. The staff is so warm and welcoming, the food comes out quickly and the atmosphere is warm, filled with plants and colorful art. We love taking friends for a fun dinner and introducing them to this gem. (Also so convenient to several subway lines!!)

Very nice - Edit
This totally vegan establishment serves tasty updates on the classics, as well as bowls, and other innovative takes on Ethiopian fare. The food is also "real" without many factory meat substitutes; so a nice, healthy menu.
