Excellent high-end vegan food at reasonable prices - Edit
Rasoterra does amazing high-end, local ingredient based, vegan food. The menu is changing all the time, but we've had great meals both times we've visited. They also have a large variety of natural wines and wine pairing for your meal. A great date night or special occasion destination.

Extraordinary cuisine! - Edit
Our recent dining experience at Rasoterra was nothing short of extraordinary. For €32 per head, the three course meal plus appetiser exceeded all expectations.
Read moreThe staff are really knowledgeable about the food and also the natural wines. They were able to help us choose the perfect wine to suit our tastes.
We ordered a spinach croquette each to start with and it was like no other croquette we'd ever had. It set the tone for an incredible meal.
For us, the calcots and artichoke cream starters absolutely stole the show! Such complex flavours and beautiful presentation.
For mains, we order the fideau and cavatelli, which didn't quite match the excellence of the starters but were nonetheless delicious and satisfying!
Finally, for dessert, we ordered the wasabi truffles and fennel panacotta. The truffles were the clear winner here with their unique creamy twist of wasabi.
We visited many vegan establishments during our short Barcelona trip but Rasoterra was out absolute favourite. With impeccable service and surprising dishes, it is a must-visit for vegans in Barcelona!

Lovely vegan fine dining experience - Edit
Great fine dining experience, very professional service and loved the wine pairing I had with my meal. Natural ingredients and very high quality food. I visited in January so it was quiet, but the atmosphere was lovely, very tranquil. I did not enjoy my dessert as much as the other courses, it was quite watery tasting, but the flavours and ingredients were really unique and I’m so glad I went there.

Sets the bar for vegan fine dining - Edit
There are so few places in the world to have a fine vegan meal such as this. Local food, sustainability conceived dishes using the whole plant. House made fermented sauces and glazed. Rich and fresh flavors and textures. Or meal included a fennel panacotta, wasabi chocolate truffles with caramel glaze, coffee marinated breasts with dill and a citrus dressing, perfectly blanched greens, a virgin martini that was beautifully bitter and sweet, cauliflower and glazed tempeh with beet sauce and caramel nut sprinkles… it was way better than I’m making it sound. The wine is sulfate free. It is easy to eat the set menu gluten free. Memorable meal you should go!! #Veganuary

Had an amazing meal here. Myself and a few friends shared several dishes and they were all spectacular. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The natural wines were very different to anything I had before, but really tasty.

Interesting experience - Edit
For a gourmet restaurant it is quiet cheap. I got the Jerusalem artichoke, the green curry and the rius hazelnut cake.

Thanks for your comment and opinions. We really appreciate you coming to visit. However you should be more cautious when you say certain things: we don't use any kind of drugs and we only drink water, apple juice or coffe before or during a service. The waiter you mention must have been busy, but certainly not high. Regards, Daniele, owner of Rasoterra

Game Changer - Edit
For me, this is still the vegan pace-setter in Barcelona. Quite a lot has changed here since our first visit in 2014 so I’ve updated my original review. It’s now 100% vegan for a start. This is an absolutely gorgeous intimate establishment serving intricately creative tapas style dishes in a splendid modernist but homely Barrio Gotico setting. For €29 you get a house appetiser followed by your choice of starter, main and desert or you can skip desert and pick another starter or something from the snack or breads menu such as their fabulous croquettes or a Catalan tomato bread. The food is truly excellent and prepared with dedicated precision. You will find some fantastic seasonal combinations here, the menu is dynamic and changes regularly. Rasoterra promotes the 'Slow Food' concept which puts emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and the distance traveled to reach the dining table. The natural wines here are selected very carefully which (in their own words) “mirror and showcase the lands that surround the city”. This is still unequivocally my top vegan establishment of all time.

You get a fixed price menu and you can choose what starter, main and dessert you want. We chose three starters but only one dessert. Everything was incredible! The different textures and flavours really complemented each other. 5 stars - Reservation required!

If you visit Barcelona, indulge yourself and go to this restaurant. They offer a monthly varying menu with exciting options. Their three-course dinner consists of a starter, a main, and a dessert. For each course, one can choose between about five options. They also offer snacks and select natural wines. Everything that we had among two shared menus and a few extra snacks was amazing! Their ingredients are organic, sourced locally, and flavourful. Naturally, staff was nice and attentive. Booking a table is recommended.

Delicious interesting dishes - Edit
I'm someone who normally goes for cheap and cheerful, so it was very exciting to have a more elevated vegan experience here. While we were disappointed to find out they no longer do a tasting menu, sharing each of our 3 dishes adding an extra side made us feel like it was a tasting menu anyway! The food was delicious and clever, and each of the dishes was interesting and gave us a lot to talk about. The staff were friendly, and our waiter was very helpful.
Read moreIt was so nice to have vegan food that wasn't trying to hide that it was vegetables, but embracing it. Our favourite two dishes were the marinated watermelon tacos and the aubergine (!!) french toast dessert. The maitake mushroom tempura was a bit plain for our taste, especially compared to the excitement of the rest of the meal, but everything overall was so thought out and delicious. Even the water tasted great! A must-visit if you want a delicious, slightly more upmarket experience.
Pros: Inventive and delicious, Good atmosphere, Friendly staff

Vegetarians Must Come Here!! - Edit
Don't miss this place. It was our last meal in Spain and did not disappoint. All vegan, set menu, but they give you the option of either one appetizer, one main and one dessert, or two appetizers and one main if you don't want dessert. We opted for one of each, so my husband and I shared 3 apps, 2 mains, and one dessert. They also have "snacks and bread" that will cost extra but totally worth it. We got olives as "an extra", then shared this fantastic ajoblanco (almond, oil and garlic soup) with nectarines, tacos of marinated watermelon, cabbage and capers and the padron peppers. My husband had the silver beet and potato curry with chickpeas and sticky rice and I had the white aubergine with miso, tolosa beans, figs and walnuts. My god, everyone....please go to this place. They gave us an amuse bouche to start and everything we ate was fabulous. I think the aubergine main dish was one of the best things I have ever eaten....and I have eaten a lot in my life. We had an interesting dessert that was french toast of aubergine sponge with its marmalade and a local (Paral-lelo) gelato place's vegan pistachio ice cream. The eggplant elements on their own were a bit strange and savory for a dessert and we weren't sure what we thought-until we ate the elements all together and it became sweet and more dessert-like. Unique and delicious. That combined with the fantastic and friendly servers, the chill vibe...would go back in a heartbeat!
