Hits and Misses - Edit
Make sure you come here hungry! My husband and I shared five of the dishes and we were stuffed by the time the third one came out.
Read moreAll the vegan options are clearly highlighted on the menu and there’s a great variety to choose from.
The food was mostly enjoyable, I liked the Smoked Broccoli Salad & the Sticky Fried Tofu but the ‘Not a Bo Koh’ was the one that we both felt was really lacking. The other dishes were average, nothing special to rave or complain about.
My only other issue was that the place was a little squishy, I found my chair kept getting knocked by people walking past.
All to say, it was okay but the experience was not as fabulous as expected after seeing the amazing reviews this place gets.
Pros: Kind staff members, Good portion sizes, Range of vegan options
Cons: Tight seating , Some dishes not very tasty, On the pricey side

Amazing vegan options - Edit
We did the 5 plates to share for $59.
Read moreMy friend who isn’t vegan ended up sharing the vegan options with me. We really enjoyed it! The flavours were really amazing, really worked well together. We enjoyed all our dishes and we were soo full by the end of it. I can still remember how good everything tasted. Totally worth it! The service was great. Everyone was so nice. I can’t wait to go back. I think it’s my new favourite restaurant. Totally recommend.
Pros: The unsual flavours that worked well together, The service, The price

Quite amazing - Edit
I'd been to a vegan degustation at RCP years ago, where everything tasted same-y due to their use of hoisin sauce. That experience put me off returning, until I had to find a place for dinner that would appease the omnis.
Read moreI enjoyed the food IMMENSELY, and one of the omnis said he liked the vegan dishes better than the non-vegan.
The standout was the fried sticky tofu, almost silken inside, with a beautiful, crispy, light batter. The sauce was a tiny bit sweet for me, but an amazing lemongrass flavour.
The smoked broccoli salad also amazing, with the fresh tasting coconut-pea puree, black vinegar, and perfectly cooked broccoli on the right side of al dente.
The beetroot curry looked a bit concerning, but I surprisingly enjoyed it alot, with it's perfect level of spice.
The roti was a little cold by the time we got to eating it, but the satay sauce was nice.
I'm looking forward to coming back, although it is a little expensive, and these sorts of asian fusion places in the city tend to put a bit of pressure on customers to get the "shared 5 plates for $59 per person" deal.
Pros: Fried sticky tofu, Smoked broccoli salad
Cons: Bit expensive, Pressure to order the shared plates deal

Fantastic but pricey - Edit
Was really impressed with the vegan dishes. We opted for the 5x courses to share, and was left extremely happy and satisfied. Quite pricey when throwing a bottle of wine in though, but worth a visit.

Lovely food. Moderate to Expensive, but worth it - Edit
5 vegan options for $49/head (min 2 people) ($98 for two)
Read moreGiven that the vegan dishes are $20 , it's not really much of a saving.
However, can recommend the pumpkin curry.
Pros: vegan options, tasty, cosy but not noisy
Cons: bathrooms are outside and upstairs, slightly pricey, and $2 discount on $100 , they will charge you for no-show

good food, lovely staff - Edit
Here's a modern Asian restaurant that has several vegan options. They serve South-East Asian fusion food with influences of Laotian, Malaysian, Filipino, Thai, Indonesian (and more!) cuisines.
Read moreThe food not only looks pretty and is well plated, it also tastes good. I loved that they use many fresh ingredients, including young coconut, banana leaves and herbs like cilantro, Vietnamese mint and Thai basil.
Dishes can be shared or ordered individually. Some dishes are small, others are more filling. And prices go up quickly... If you order rice or roti as a side, 2 or 3 dishes are enough for two people.
The restaurant is located in a quieter area near the busy Queen Street. It is rather large, with seating inside and outside. Service was good and staff was literally Angelic!
Pros: taste good, lovely staff, good vegan options
Cons: can get pricey

Yummmm - Edit
Just had a work lunch there with two fellow omni colleagues who were willing to try the vegan options.
Read moreWe had the:
- Tempura Buns - filled with tempura eggplant, pickled cucumber and spicy vegan mayonnaise
- Smoked Pineapple Ceviche - smoked pineapple with chilli, coconut and soy bean cracker
- Thai Chive Cakes - fried garlic and chive cakes, asian herbs, iceberg and a sweet soy and vinegar sauce
- Sticky Soy Tofu - fried tofu, soy glaze, crispy shallots and spring onion
- Balinese Pumpkin Curry - roast pumpkin, macadamias, heirloom tomatoes
Each dish was spot on, the stars for me were the cakes, the tofu and the curry. The Buns could have had a bit more salt but that a minor thing. The tofu was the best tofu dish ive had. Overall I was impressed but my omni colleagues were even more impressed that vegan food would be that good. They would happily go back for the Vegan options, as would I!
Very full and happy belly.
Should have taken some photos, next time though.
Pros: delicious vegan food, clearly marked menu
Cons: nada

Very creative dishes - Edit
The vegan menu is so creative and interesting! They offer a tapas-style eatery with an omni menu as well as a vegan menu. The prices are a bit more expensive, but the food is actually pretty filling. They have a 5 dishes for $30 per person, which basically equates to one free dish, so it's good value for that. The food was very tasty. I got the "duck" bao with hoisin, which was my favourite. I love bao and it's nice to have a vegan one! The staff are super friendly - the waitress was so patient with us while we figured out where to sit and what to order, and she told us what she recommended as well. It's good for a birthday dinner or with a group of friends as it's very much a 'try a bit of everything' environment. The city location and the Fitzroy location differ a little bit in terms of their vegan menu, so I'd recommend having a look beforehand at both to see which menu you like better to decide the location.

Vegan menu is delicious - Edit
They have a full vegan menu on the opposite side of their regular menu. It includes mock meat versions of some of the regular dishes. The food was delicious! I would highly recommend it. It’s pricey, but very worth it.

This was so close to the hotel I was staying in I had to call in for lunch. Vegan items are clearly marked on the menu and I had the bao buns stuffed with crispy tofu which was done in the style of mock duck. A great lunch snack. Worth a visit.
