Everything I've eaten here has been delicious. They do lovely drinks and coffees and a big selection of cakes. They're not very good at cleaning tables though, every time we had to ask them to clear away the previous person's dishes and wipe the table. Apart from that, it's a great place to eat. Be prepared to spend though as there are so many great things on the menu.

Feels like Roots is a level above for creating a vegan paradise in Vietnam. Everything is fresh, delicious and affordable - Roots has got its stuff together. The menu is perfect for any time of day and I’d eat every meal here if necessary.

Perfect relaxed working from home atmosphere, with GREAT smoothie bowls. Go for combi 1 (smoothie bowl toast drink) for 160k vnd and you won't regret it (and won't go hungry!). Lots of internationals and people co-working.

I did not like this chain in HCMC but was in the mood for something sweet for breakfast so came here and got a cacao bowl and coffee. It was much better than my mediterranean bowl. Pretty much only westerners come here. If I’m in the mood for breakfast food I may come here again.

Roots is one of my favorite vegan café/restaurant in the world. I was there almost daily during my 3 month stay in Da Nang. The food is great and it’s the perfect place to work or to hang out with friends. I tried almost everything on the menu. My favourites : Pesto toast, taco bowl (you have to eat the bowl, people, it’s the best part!), hummus warm salad, Mezze board (so much food for the price!) pumpkin soup, falafel bowl, I could go on… My non-vegan friends were there all the time. They have an upstairs area and a hostel upstairs. It’s very lively morning and early afternoon, but I wish they changed the vibe in the evening and turned it more into a wine-bar/tapas place, as it’s pretty dead in the evening and they look like they have nice vegan wines. Pro-tip: you can buy jars of nutritional yeast😉

One of my favourite places in Da Nang and located in An Thuong, which is a nice relatively walkable area in Da Nang. It is also close to the beach. I came here many times and all the food I had was really good. The bread provided with the soups were really nice. The bowls such as the falafel bowls tasted really fresh. The sandwiches were creamy. Order first at the counter. Credit card accepted and there is also free WiFi too.

We visited here once but I wish I would have returned to taste some desserts! The basil pesto sandwich was my favorite! I’m not a fan of pesto but this was really tasty. The only negative is if you choose to sit outside. We were approached three times within 10 minutes asking to buy things from locals. We chose to move inside so we could enjoy our meal. I would not skip this place if in Danang!

In the beginning I had a problem with Roots as the coffee is bad and they only offer cashew milk and the sweet potato fries were raw each time.
Read moreBut later I discovered the peanut butter chia pudding which is filling and delicious, hummus and pita which is a gigantic portion and tasty, as well as the mezze platter which is also for 2 and very tasty.
The roots bowl is also the best bowl in Danang in my iopinion. So I came back many times, just drinking the cold pressed juices instead of coffee. Prices are a bit higher but the place is big and cozy. Staff is friendly. Cakes were also not that great and mostly not available throughout the months we were there.

Really good food, lots of options - all Western food though. I went here multiple times during my time in Da Nang, and me and my (omnivore) friends loved it! The vibe is really cute, it feels very beachy and chill, there's lots of expats that seem to work remotely from there. Since it's all Western food, the price is a bit higher than a Vietnamese restaurant would be. Their smoothies and smoothie bowls are delicious, and they have some really good vegan cheese on their sandwiches.

Food was good the first time we went but service was unacceptably slow, over 40 minutes wait as they have forgotten about us or the kitchen mixed up people’s orders. The place seemed to be run inefficiently and staff looked confused.

How could super fast food be completely cold unless they have been sitting there from another order not taken? We were going to send them back but decided we just wouldn’t go back anymore. Not worth the hassle.

You were lucky to have found an open vegan place around the lunar new year buddy 😅 the very rare places that were open of course were understaffed because everyone here is on holiday. Your frustration is still fair but we almost starved for a day where we were due to lack of opened places and would have gladly waited 40min for a vegan meal instead.
