Amazing food, nice place, nice owner - Edit
I ate here the best lasagna I've ever eaten in my life! It was amazing, bechamel was really good. The place is nice and cozy, the owner cooks herself and the service is really nice. I'd definitely recommend! 10/10

Great vegan spot - Edit
I had quite a rough start to my time in Palma with a 3 hour flight delay and barely eating anything on the day I arrived, followed by an emergency in the morning and needing to work.
Read moreAfter 2 days of barely eating, the wonderful restaurant Sandra created was absolutely everything I needed. I had the lasagne, which I think was a mix of vegan mince and lentils, and honestly I couldn’t have imagined a better meal. I felt so much better afterwards, full but in a content and happy kind of way.
The homemade Kombucha deserves its own shoutout because it is the first time I tasted one that is a smooth as this.
The raw cake also was fresh and excellent. I may come back again to eat before I leave.
Also Sandra, the owner. What a star! She served, cooked my meal and made sure I got a taxi (as a woman travelling alone, I certainly appreciated that).
Please visit and support her, I believe she will look after anyone who visits with as much care and attention as she did for me!

Get the lasagne! - Edit
Had to get the legendary lasagne - definitely the best one I’ve had since going vegan. Full of umami and had amazing crispy bits at the sides. Husband got the tacos - tasty (and very spicy) but messy. Took a while for the food to arrive but we were warned about the wait beforehand. Was a tad expensive but genuinely didn’t mind given how good the lasagne was!

We should have announced us, therefore the service was not prepared also we were very late. Sandra stayed for us to get us fed. The food had a good variety and was very good including some traditional spanish dishes. The food was also beautiful prepared.

Really wanted to love it but unfortunately didn’t - Edit
I really really wanted to love this place because I want to support it and it’s clearly a vegan institution in Palma. The two nights before we went to ca’n ela and La mujer verde which were both incredible so maybe we’re also comparing too much.
Read moreThat said, I feel like the 5* reviews are a little misleading and all the 1* and 2* reviews on Google and tripadvisor can be a little harsh, so wanted to try and leave a balanced review.
Sandra was lovely to us (a lot of the reviews note that she is rude etc but we didn’t experience this). She clearly puts a lot of love into the food and that’s wonderful.
The food was good, but we were disappointed that it was all microwaved. It’s just not what you’d expect from a restaurant, and not one with these prices.
We had the lasagne and burger. The lasange was good - it’s not cheap but we didn’t mind the price. The burger was very salty and wasn’t worth €26 for a burger and sweet potato fries in our opinion. We wouldn’t even pay that in London.
The service wasn’t bad (again noting a lot of reviews comment on this). It wasn’t particularly fast but didn’t really bother us because we weren’t in a hurry, but I understand why people may comment on this especially when you’re the only people there.
The ambiance is really lacking unfortunately. We were one of two couples in the place and it just doesn’t have any atmosphere which is a real shame. Decor is obviously personal taste but in my opinion, the place could really do with a refresh as it feels quite dated. On top of this, the ventilation was really poor. I don’t feel like you see this too often now because most places have a good ventilation system, which means you notice it even more when you leave and your clothes really really smell. Not the worst thing but something to note.
I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this place but if you’re keen to support a vegan business, it’s not a bad pit stop, if you’re aware of what you’re getting in advance.
Pros: Fully vegan , Food was ok
Cons: Microwaved food, Little to no atmosphere , Expensive for what it is

Great Flavours - Edit
Really enjoyed our visit to Sandra's, where we ordered the lasagna, tex mex burrito and hummus, falafel and pita. Oh.. and two big glasses of sangria!
Read moreThe lasagna was indeed legendary and bursting with flavour, whilst the tex mex burrito was deliciously spicy. The hummus, falafel and pita was really good too.
For dessert, the 3 of us shared an excellent chocolate mousse that came with strawberries.
Overall, the food was great, the atmosphere was lovely and the owner was fabulous, but the service was a little slow with everything being prepared fresh. I can live with that though 😊.
Pros: Great food, Staff, Vibe

Best vegan food and best owner ever! - Edit
Ate at Sandra's nearly everyday of our trip in Palma and we tried nearly every dish on her menu and each dish was exceptional without fail. Sandra's aim is to prove that vegan food doesn't have to suck and she nails it with the love, flavor and the technique she puts in every dish. Not only is the restaurant beautiful and cosy but Sandra herself is such a wonderful, kind and beautiful soul to speak to and connect with. Her energy, kindness and incredible food made me and my partner want to return to Palma exclusively to eat at her restaurant again! We can't wait to see you again, Sandra!

We traipsed around on a hen do with 22 girls looking for somewhere we could all eat but with 6 vegan we were disappointed and split up, using the happy cow app we found this amazing little gem 5 minutes from our hotel.

Unique Experience Is Also Valuable - Edit
First: Parking in Palma near this restaurant is nearly impossible; we drove around for 45 minutes to find a spot.
Read moreOnce inside, we were warmly greeted by Sandra. The interior was notably cluttered: a freezer behind roller blinds, toothbrushes in the bathroom, and piles of stuff everywhere. The bar was a collection of various items, adding to the chaotic atmosphere.
The service was provided by a new waiter who was clearly still in training. Upon arrival, there was some confusion with our reservation, causing Sandra to panic. Our table had been given to someone else, but since the rest of the restaurant was empty, we could sit anywhere.
The food was another story. Many of the dishes were unavailable. We were served the wrong dish initially, and the food we did get was lukewarm, soft, or undercooked. Despite these issues, the food itself was flavorful. The situation was so chaotic that we found it hilarious and ended up having a great time.
The new waiter spoke no English, so he kept bringing Sandra over, who repeatedly apologized. The restaurant officially closed at 10:30 PM, but we only received our main course around then. It was a fun experience, although I don’t think we would go back.
All in all, Sabores de Sandra offered a unique dining experience filled with laughter and memorable moments, even if it wasn’t for the right reasons.
I give this 4 stars because she is good for the world and creates unique dishes, even though they are not entirely perfect.

Good - Edit
The complimentary olives are delicious. I shared the pitta falafel and hummus with my Mum and it was good. I had pasta and meatballs and the sauce was very rich and a little sweeter than I'd prefer but not overly so. My mum had a homemade burger with sweet potato fries but she found them a bit overly salty and they were more like shavings than fries. My mum is ceoliac and I was impressed by how many gf options there were. Quite expensive but everywhere is in Palma it would seem!
