Absolutely amazing! - Edit
We tried the galette (fitting the season, it was topped with pumpkin and chickpeas), a tomato pesto babka, a pastry with mushrooms and chestnuts, the potato leek twist and a foccacia sandwich with beetroot and whipped "feta", as well as their current desserts (a chocolate mouse and a pistachio tiramisu).

Amazing bread and bakes! - Edit
Absolutely delicious!
Read moreThere's 2 Saint-Jeans directly across from each other, one is apparently very Tik-Tok famous, so there's a massive queue. I went to the other one, where I got lovely coffee, INCREDIBLE bread and a wonderful croissant! Believe the other side does more sweet bakes. However the one with no-queue still had a few, so would recommend if you don't want a long wait! 😊💚
Pros: Delicious bakes, Good coffee , Friendly staff

Perfect spot for a vegan bite - Edit
The savory version of Saint-Jean pastry shop around the corner is a great find. Always based on their homemade puff pastry, the food is excellent and generous. I'm a fan of both the sweet and savoury versions. The place is pleasant and the staff nice. One of my favorite destinations in Amsterdam.

Fantastic food and service - Edit
Started at the Saint Jean Deli for sandwiches and coffee before heading across the canal for sweet pastries to go. We sat in at the deli and the service was incredible. Was just one person working, serving and making coffee and they were incredible efficient and polite. The sandwiches themselves were amazing and the soft serves looked great too but we didn't try it. Pastries from across the road were great as well. Be prepared to wait a bit as there are only a few tables inside but they do takeaway as well.

Oh my god. - Edit
This is literally the best bakery I’ve ever encountered. The wait can be insane because it’s TikTok famous, but if you go early in the morning, you should be good. #1 must visit in Amsterdam. You won’t regret it I promise

Sooooo gut - Edit

Amazing sandwiches - Edit
We stopped in for a takeaway lunch and got the TLC and the pulled jackfruit sandwiches, plus a cookie. Both sandwiches were great, some of the best vegan sandos I've ever had. It's a cute space but there wasn't room inside so we ate outside.

Tasty pistachio soft-serve - Edit
We saw this place offering Oatly's soft-serve in a unique flavour (which I think they only serve here). We only paid 3.50 and even got a drizzle of pistachio on it. Delicious and cooling!

Delicious savory pastries - Edit
Small Deli with beautiful savory pastries. It's hard to choose because everything looks very tasty. Tried the Parmesan twister and spinach roll, both were flaky and delicious. Also had a bite of the olive and rosemary bun, but that one lacked a bit of flavour in my opinion. Matcha latte was good!

Pistachio soft serve was a treat! - Edit
Had a sandwich, ciabatta and the oatly pistachio soft serve and it didn't disappoint.
Read moreThe bread to filling ratio was a bit high in the sandwich but overall lovely and fresh. Would have loved to have tried some sweet options but the bakery queue was long. The deli had some options like babka but I thought we would return for it. Alas we didn't manage to!

Cons: Queue for the bakery, Not much seating

Truly sensational - Edit
We came here to get some lunch and had a selection of pastries including a Potato & Leek bun, Garlic Parmesan twist, pesto/Tomato Bakba & then finished with Pistachio soft serve. All the above was magnificent both in terms of texture & flavour, there was so much choice which made it almost frustrating. If you’re in this part of Amsterdam it’s truly unmissable.

Very tasty - Edit
They'd run out of the sandwich I wanted so instead I had the artichoke balsamic one in focaccia bread which was really tasty. The focaccia was really well made and didn't leave me feeling heavy. Also had a double chocolate chip cookie which was amazing. All their other pastries looked great too, wish I had time to go back and try more.

Less busy than the bakery - Edit
Do this branch is just across the street from the bakery branch who I think have a few more sweet choices. It also has a queue outside pretty much all the time. We went to the deli walked in got a seat and they have several sweet choices as well as savoury so we where happy the pastries - lovely my cinnamon twist perhaps a bit dryer than I would have liked.

Both locations 5/5 - Edit
Saint-Jean has two locations: an all vegan deli (savory baked goods, sandwiches, coffees, soft serve) and an all vegan pastry shop (sweet baked goods, pastries, coffee). These are across the street from each other and both are completely vegan!
Read moreI can’t say enough kind things about either location because it’s the best of both worlds. My highlights from the savory/deli spots: Tempeh BLT, spicy croissant, pistachio soft serve icecream, cappuccino. Highlights from the pastry shop: pistachio cruffin!!!!!!!!! Also, the cappuccinos. And the Pain au Chocolat!

Very good savory croissant - Edit
I went in to Saint Jeans and they didn’t have anything savory. They said they only do sweets there and the savories were across the street at the deli. So I went across the street and got an americano and whichever pastry they recommended. It was the spicy cheese croissant— I almost never get pastries because I only like savory things, which tend to not be vegan, so I am not an authority on what makes a good croissant— but this was probably the best croissant I’ve had. Lightly crisp on the outside and soft in the middle, the toasted pumpkin seeds on top 🧑🍳💋 I thought the espresso was a little under extracted (a little sour) from what I’m used to, so I might opt for coffee somewhere else. But it’s worth coming in for the savories.
