Avoid Sangha Vegetarian Restaurant in Da Nang at All Costs

If I could give zero stars, I would. Sangha Vegetarian Restaurant markets itself as a high-end establishment, but the experience was nothing short of infuriating.

Here’s why:

1. Deceptive and Inaccurate Menu
They claim to have six rotating menus, but none of them are accurate. I asked about multiple items, and every time I was told they didn’t have what I wanted. When I inquired about protein options, I was first told there was none, then miraculously, a dish with tofu appeared. But guess what? The menu clearly stated it didn’t have tofu. Their excuse? “Translation mistake.” No, it’s not. It’s just a poorly managed menu.
Then, I saw another dish labeled as having spring rolls. They showed me a picture, and there were no spring rolls. Again, “translation mistake.” This is beyond ridiculous—how can customers make informed decisions when the menu is flat-out wrong?

2. Rude and Incompetent Staff
The staff were dismissive and treated me like an idiot for questioning the obvious contradictions in their menu. They walked off mid-conversation, leaving me to figure out the mess on my own. This level of service is unacceptable anywhere.

3. Ridiculously Overpriced
They charge many times more than other restaurants in Da Nang while offering subpar service and a chaotic dining experience. They’re pretending to be a premium establishment but fail to deliver on even the basics.

4. No Accountability
It’s clear the management doesn’t care. If they did, they’d have a proper menu, train their staff to be respectful, and ensure the customer experience matches the premium prices they charge.

Sangha is the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. The owner should shut it down, fire everyone, and start fresh with a restaurant that has a functioning menu and a competent team. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else in Da Nang. This place is a total joke.

Vegan Oasis

My gf and I ventured out for lunch and couldn’t have prepared for how beautiful this restaurant is. A huge photo op, but the food was good as well. We ordered the fried rice, fresh rolls, and stir fried noodles. The fresh rolls were the highlight. The crispy mushrooms in the fried rice were delightful, but the fried rice could have used more seasoning. The noodles were lackluster and we wouldn’t order it again. The basil lemonade is salty, so it’s good if you need to restore electrolytes but might be too salty otherwise. Would return to try other dishes.

Pros: Aesthetic, Good service

Cons: Some dishes lacked flavor

Outstanding

Eating at Sangha was an unexpected delight. The outdoor eating area is in a very beautiful, zen feeling garden.

I ordered the Nâm Sôt Boi Tòi and I've never had anything like it! Rich, creamy, served with warm, fresh, crusty bread. I enjoyed the shaved lime ice alongside and it was the refreshment I didn't know I needed! I savored every bite and sip of this meal!

At 160,000d for a main and drink, it's more than I usually spend for a meal, but honestly, the cost is less than a crap fast food resturant in Canada and it was phenomenal. I'm worth the occasional splurge! It was delicious.

Top quality restaurant

I had the mushroom and aubergine stacks with peanut sauce and the mushroom Thai curry, swapping out the bread for l rice. Both dishes were exquisite and the staff were attentive. Thinking back it wasn't clear of these dishes were actually vegan and the sriracho mayo type sauce on the aubergine and mushroom dish may not have been vegan, hopefully I'm wrong. Knocked a star off for possibly consuming eggs, though I guess I could've asked. Drinks were great too, had a mango smoothie type drink (also best check that's actually vegan) and a refreshing drink that I'm unsure of the name off. Just pointed at a drink on another table. Tasted like gin and had some green jelly cubes and chia seeds, very nice.

Pros: Top quality cuisine, Lovely outdoor dining area , Attentive staff

Cons: No English menu, vegan options not clear, Not the cheapest you'll find

Cons: Duur, Weinig vegan opties

Nice setting and decor, tasty food

This is a very nice restaurant with a calming atmosphere. The food is delicious and there is a lot of variety to choose from. There were some problems with understanding the menu as it was only in Vietnamese, but the waitress showed us photos of the food on her phone so we were able to pick.

The only other issue is we were given wet wipes to clean up afterwards as part of the meal, but then charged for them (50p). Wasn't a lot of cost, but this should really be communicated before the bill arrives. We only used them because they were given to us, but wouldn't have done so if we didn't know they weren't complimentary.

Pros: Great food , Lovely decor, Tranquil atmosphere

Cons: Charged for things we didn't ask for, Menu only in Vietnamese

Beautiful restaurant

Stunning restaurant with lots of options. Food was delicious but slightly on the more pricey side for Vietnamese standards but still affordable compared to western prices. Menu was in Vietnamese but the waitress had photos of the meals and explained what each item was in moderately good English.

MUST EAT

This place was AMAZING! Took a group of students here (we are going back) that aren’t vegetarian / vegan and they loved it! Best food I’ve had in Danang and them too!

Pros: Lots of options, Great environment , Pre set family style
