The best falafel - Edit
My family loves this place. Easy order and pickup, though not much space to eat in. Consistently good food and customer service.

Fresh and flavorful - Edit
Had the shawarma bowl without the cabbage and it was very flavorful and so fresh tasting. Food ready immediately. Garlic sauce delicious. Will definitely try a pita sandwich next time as those looked huge.

The Absolute Best Falafel Sandwich! - Edit
Was only in town for a long weekend but managed to make it to this spot twice during my stay—it was THAT good!
Read moreEverything we ordered was beyond delicious (although the sweets were somewhat hit or miss)!
- Fried Shouk’n Pita Sandwich (with amazing oyster mushroom schnitzel)
- Fancy Falafel Pita Sandwich (with the BEST falafel ever!!)
- Smashing Potatoes side
- Malabi dessert (slightly strange but overall pleasant)
- Choco-Cardamon Cookie (cardigan was slightly too fragment for my taste)
Can’t wait to go back again and try more of Shouk’s menu!

Unbelievably Good Oyster Mushrooms - Edit
Some of the best oyster mushrooms I've had. Sooo flavorful and juicy. I made my own custom bowl, I appreciate that option. Ordering was easy and food came out super fast.

So good!! - Edit
Hands down some of the best food I've ever eaten! I got the oyster mushroom schnitzel and fries, and my life is seriously changed. Everything was delicious. My only complaint is the price. I wish it was a little cheaper. But I will definitely be returning to try more!

This is vegan?? - Edit
*EVERYTHING* here is good *AND* cruelty free. And I've tried pretty much everything.
Read moreEvery pita sandwich here is delicious!
Recommended:
Shouk burger: savory and hearty
Shwarma: ok, it's not mock shwarma meat but those are some delicious mushrooms with the right texture.
Falafel: Middle-easterners know their falafel. This isn't Cava; that's some bland falafel. This falafel has flavor!
Get the pickled onions. Just do it.

Delicious - Edit
Never tried Israeli food before but I was enticed. I got the falafel with an extra side of garlic tahini, my fiancé got the fried oyster mushroom sandwich, and we got a side of fries with Shouk sauce. The food was incredible; some of the best I’ve ever had.

Great casual restaurant - Edit
I don't think I'd ever had this type of cuisine before and the spices caught me off guard in terms of their flavour, but it was a good experience. The interiors are cool too!

Great Mediterranean Vegan! - Edit
Very small restaurant with quick service and fantastic vegan options! You can order online and through a kiosk, and even in a busy lunch hour, food was put together quick. Great quality of food and different choices of different spicy tahini and vegan mayo options!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING - Edit
I unfortunately didn't take any pictures cause I was too hungry and excited. It was really delicious. I feel like it's hard to find good vegan food in the states but this is an absolute gem. Made my heart happy. My non vegan partner also loved it.

Best Israeli-style Street food in DMV - Edit
We had the oyster mushroom shawarma, falafel and shouk nuggets. The food was delicious and the portions (packed into fluffy pitas) were generous. Lots of side toppings and sauces to choose from. Watch out for the green one-it's very spicy. We were going to take pictures to post, but we ate it all...
Read moreIn terms of authenticity, Shouk's food comes closest to the falafel/shawarma street vendors in Israel serve.
Nov. '23 update: Every bit as good on our most recent visit. We recommend the Shouk'n (oyster mushroom "fried chicken") with spicy shug sauce on the side, plus a side of extra crispy fries with harissa mayo dip.
Updated from previous review on 2022-03-02
Pros: Authentic street food, Generous portions, Friendly staff
Cons: Few dessert options
