Cosy and actually many options - Edit
Although not explicitly labeled they have a lot of vegan options, more than the average taverna. We were two, and we mostly shared various dishes, although my friend had two non vegan dishes as well.
Read moreI had the baked potatoes, baked gigantes (Lima) beans, grilled vegetables, Greek salad without the feta, and the beetroot mint and walnut salad. Food was good, funnily enough and although fairly simple, the beetroot salad was my favourite. The sweetness of the beetroot, the freshness of the mint, olive oil and crunchy walnuts work very well for me.
They have a 1€ cover charge that includes bread, water and probably the small pieces of watermelon en melon they offered us at the end.
Some options I didn’t have but remember from the menu: Black eyed peas salad, rice filled vine leaves, fava dip, fried vegetables and fried potatoes, and while not certain the dessert option “loukoumades” might be vegan if made without honey
The location is very calm and cosy and we ate outside under the tree, with some traditional Greek music. Away from the loud restaurant and bars that seem to be the norm in Heraklion. The service was correct and fairly fast, but not especially friendly. We went after the end of September and they must be looking forward for the tourist season to end.
If eating gluten-free, make sure to ask to omit the croutons in the Greek salad, otherwise it seems to be suitable for people with an allergy or sensitivity.
Pros: More options than average, Gluten free friendly, Open on Sunday, Cosy and calm location
Cons: Not labeled, Service could be warmer

Authentic little gem - Edit
You really are surrounded by locals at Siga Siga, the location being slightly removed from the hyper-touristic centre. There are many default vegan options to chose from and the food is absolutely delicious. Remember to specify without sauce for the vine leaves.
