Previous uodate: Still great! Had cod croquettes, fries and the relatively new fried chicken burger.
Update: Still great! The cheezy burger and fries (shared) was a great lunch.
Another update: Still great! It's been a long time since I had the ribs (starter) and they were very good.
We love Soil. The Ben Ben Noodles remain a firm favourite, and we also enjoyed the cod croquettes, smoky aubergine dip and spicy seitan sándwich. Sharing a bunch of starters is usually a winner.
Update! Now in January we've been back to try new dishes. The house-pickled Shii-take were good and my partner liked the kebab starter and (again) the spicy seitan sandwich. I tried the Tonkotsu ramen and it was excellent.
Good wine and service again!

I have to be honest, I didn’t expect anything shocking, and instead it was DELICIOUS! I had the ben ben noodles and my partner had the miso ramen, and both were SO tasty! The starters were unfortunately a bit too expensive for us at the moment but they looked really amazing too. Honestly highly suggested (make sure you book, we got *very* lucky to find a table and it was a Monday night)

All vegan cafe with cakes and snacks. I had an apple pie and an almond-cappuccino. The cappuccino was ok, the cake absolutely delicious! I would recommend sitting outside because the inside smells very strongly of fried.

Nice venue tucked away in Amsterdam’s meatless district, just a short walk from the tram network. The menu has a fantastic variety—ramen dishes are outstanding, and the chick’n and cheeze burgers were absolutely fabulous. Don’t skip the fries; they’re a real taste sensation! We finished off with what might just be the most incredible cheesecake in the Netherlands 🇳🇱.

Read moreI liked the bitterballen and the ribs, and had the dragon noodles which were very tasty and filling, tried some khao soi noodles as well which were good too. Tried the apple pie and the cheesecake which were both really good.
The staff is friendly and if I didn't live so far away I'd definitely go again soon.
I skipped dinner because I was still full.

The udon noodles were solid, but the sandwich with the vegan steak and cheese was truly amazing: Extremely!!! authentic taste, especially the cheese was just wow!

I had the Bulgogi cheese steak and it just hit all the right spots for me. It was really delicious, so cheesy and all the right flavour combinations. This definitely beats the cheese stake I had in Philadelphia, which is known for their cheese stakes.

die portionen der hauptspeisen waren groß, aber auch etwas teuer. knapp 20 euro pro hauptspeise.
personal war nett, wir würden wieder kommen.

Tried a bit of the cheeseburger and it was great too! Beyond meat patty? Great cheese and sauce - I believe they make all their sauces in house.
Fries were great for 3.9 extra
The Bali salad was good but there is a but.
Good: portion size, peanut sauce, tempeh and greens. Looked good too
Bad: pineapple (not sure if they used canned - then rather don’t use any), jackfruit had a weird taste and cold from the fridge. Broccoli tasted raw and cold.
Overall wouldn’t recommend this dish also has not much to do with Bali just because it has a peanut sauce 😅
Also long waiting time. Clearly understaffed but crazy how only two people could do everything together
The air is stuffy. There is no aircon and they have an open kitchen where they fry things so you can imagine. The back door is open but doesn’t do much. Europe summer makes it cold to leave front door open too. There’s two tables outside as well. Can agree with others: please why is it so difficult to wipe down tables after each customer?
Cool and unique interior with homemade kimchi etc.
No cash
Can’t compete with great vegan restaurants around the world unfortunately but for Holland it’s probably great 😆

The Bali Salad is our take on a classic Gado Gado salad. Famous all throughout Indonesia. We basically chose to omit the egg for obvious reasons :-)
Pineapple: Yes it is preserved pineapple. Our creative choice. As it is the cold jackfruit (afterall this refreshing a salad) and the slightly blanched (not raw) broccoli. We like the crunch instead of a soft broccoli. Again, a matter of creative choice.
Sorry we missed the mark on the waiting time. We are typically faster but sometimes we can slip a bit. But we always aim for friendliness. Thanks for calling our attention to the tables.
