Update: Still great! The cheezy burger and fries (shared) was a great lunch.
Another update: Still great! It's been a long time since I had the ribs (starter) and they were very good.
We love Soil. The Ben Ben Noodles remain a firm favourite, and we also enjoyed the cod croquettes, smoky aubergine dip and spicy seitan sándwich. Sharing a bunch of starters is usually a winner.
Update! Now in January we've been back to try new dishes. The house-pickled Shii-take were good and my partner liked the kebab starter and (again) the spicy seitan sandwich. I tried the Tonkotsu ramen and it was excellent.
Good wine and service again!

The flavor of the food was great. Ribs where more less as I remember (even though it’s more than 10 years ago).

For mains we had Ben Ben noodles and Bali salad. Both dishes were well balances in flavor and combination of veggies.
The staff is friendly, the interior is ok, great place to eat how ever it is not dining.

We had a wonderful evening there. Everything was delicious: we had ribs and mushroom bitterballen as starters, loved them. I then had the Miso Ramen and it was one of the best I’ve ever had, incredibly comforting and full of flavor! 🥰 The cheesecake was also very very nice. I highly recommend it for a cozy dinner in the city!

We chose to start with the ribs as sideorder, my main dish was the dragon noodles and our dessert the snickers.
The spare ribs are pretty soft and well made. The dragon noodles are not spicy and really delicious. My personal highlight was the dessert, cause the snickers were superb!
Overall it was a really good experience and the menu has an awesome combination. That’s what I love about fusion kitchens.

- 'ribs' (seitan) 13,5 €
Mains:

- bali salad 14,95€
We had a nice lunch. Loved the seitan and sauce (the 'ribs')! The kimchi fried rice was a bit monotone. The bali salad ok.
Wooden chairs and bench. Not so comfy, some cushions would be nice for a softer seating 😉
Service was reserved, the minimum. And although we were the only (and first for lunch I think?) customers, it took 25 minutes for food to come ...
Two toilets (if I remember correctly) on the side - non-binary. Clean. Didn't see an accessible toilet. Small step to enter restaurant room. Spacious inside.
PS: although we do love samba music, 1,5 hours of samba was too much 😃

Food is alright. Very expensive. I had the ramen and it was very oily, there was a huge knob of butter floating which felt unnecessary, it didn’t taste like ramen at all. It was okay but nothing special.

Yummy Dutch/ Asian fusion - Edit
We enjoyed Soil Vegan for both their atmosphere and food. The restaurant was quiet with some good music playing the background. We ordered the Mushroom Bitterballen, a fantastic surprise with an amazing texture and fried crunch. Plus a great Dijon mustard on the side. Additionally we enjoyed some of their “Rustic fries” with vegan mayo. The main course was a filling delight too, with a spicy punch. The Ben Ben noodles. A creamy sesame sauce with chili oil and vegan meatballs accompanied the sizable noodles for quite the experience. While very good, it became a bit too much to consume after our exciting appetizers. Overall great experience!!

Then we shared the main of the Ben Ben Noodles which we both thought was really good. It was very rich in its creamy sesame sauce, but so many unique flavors between the chili oil, pickles, meatballs and sesame. It was a really cool combo. Would return to try something new!

Besr vegan food that we had in our trip in Amsterdam. Everything was so tasty and service was friendly. We had ribs, eggplant hummus with sourdough, tacos and cheezy burger. Wines were also good. We needed to ask water multiple times but that was the only con.

when we came to the restaurant it turned out we made a reservation in the other location. nevertheless, the staff arranged everything perfectly so we could have a sit. the service was amazing, and the food was more than delicious. non-vegans were also impressed.

The ribs and tacos were delicious, the miso salad also very tasty. The kimchi fried rice was good and the “cod fish” croquettes were a little bland.
Read moreWe arrived at 20:30 without reservation and, although the restaurant was mostly empty, the waitress was hesitant to give us a table. Kitchen closes at 21:00.
We ordered 3 starters/sharing bites and 2 mains, all together; however, they were not served all at the same time as it seems that the kitchen is a little slow. We also had to re-order one item that got forgotten.
No complimentary tap water (charged 3.50 for a large bottle) although we also had a glass of wine.

Had the 'no-chicken' burger with fries. Fries are luckely not fat but not so crispy. The burger buns were extra grilled (+1 point!) and the burger was richely filled with a variety of delicious vegetables.
