Opened Feb 2018, relocated to new address Feb 2022, a social enterprise vegan restaurant that employs homeless people and people after leaving jail. Offers lunch menus, wide range of local vegan cuisine, fair-trade coffee, alcoholic drinks including local draught beer, vegan and gluten-free cakes and other desserts and last but not least a variety of high quality non-alcoholic alternatives. Open Mon-Wed 16:00-23:00, Thu-Fri 16:00-00:00, Sat 12:00-00:00, Sun 12:00-23:00. Kitchen closes every day at 10pm. BRUNCH 10:00-13:00 on weekends

Great food with a great mission - Edit
We were so excited to eat at Strecha tonight. The restaurant is large and bright. When we first entered we thought it was small, but the restaurant is in the shape of an L and has about three separate seating areas on the long arm. We sat in the very end room which had a couch with a low table and a chess set and a monopoly game. Our servers were very nice and spoke to us in English.
Read moreWe ordered the dumplings on red cabbage and the fried cheese with fries. It was great to get to try some traditional Czech dishes veganized. The food was delicious and the portions were generous - we sadly weren't able to finish our meals because we ran out of room.
We were happy to purchase a pending meal for someone in need.

Unfortunately this place was disappointing. We were excited to be seated without a reservation and watched many people be turned away over the course of the evening so we got hyped about the food.
Read moreWe had Svíčková and Výpečky and both were quite bland. Especially the Svíčková Sauce did not convince us, and the knedlíky were super dense, i felt like i was eating dry sponge. The portions were way too small for the Price, and after waiting for more than 40 minutes for our food we left still hungry.
The staff was nice and it was a busy night, but I have had much better vegan Czech food elsewhere.

Zur Vorspeise hatten wir den in Öl eingelegten Tofu. Wir waren beeindruckt wie sehr der Tofu nach Feta schmeckt. Zur Hauptspeise hatten wir Gulasch und panierten Blumenkohl. Leider war es etwas kalt, aber sehr lecker. Das ist auch unser einziger negativer Punkt. Die Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich und höflich.

Read moreDas soziale/solidarische Konzept ist wirklich toll: Es gibt die Möglichkeit ein Essen im Voraus für eine Person, die es braucht, zu bezahlen. Es wird aber nirgendwo dazu genötigt neben dem kleinen Hinweis auf der Speisekarte.
Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich. Zu wissen dass dort ehemalige Wohnungslose/Insassen eine neue Chance bekommen/unterstützt werden, lässt einen mit einem noch besseren Gefühl das leckere Essen genießen.

Locale molto carino che offre cucina 100% vegana con piatti locali. Il cibo è molto particolare, non dico che non è buona ma sicuramente essendo abituato alla cucina mediterranea i sapori risultano molto forti. Consiglio comunque una visita.

Read moreWir waren zu zweit und hatten zur Sicherheit vorher reserviert, es wirkte aber so als wäre auch so Platz zu finden (unter der Woche). Eine absolute Empfehlung unsererseits ist die Käse-Platte, wir hatten noch nie so guten veganen Käse und haben uns danach die Adresse zum bestellen geben lassen, da wir so begeistert waren. Die Hauptgänge sind auch alle zu Empfehlen und sehr bezahlbar, wirklich eine sehr erfolgreiche Umwandlung traditioneller tschechischer Küche in vegan.

I really liked the concept of this restaurant and how they help people who usually struggle to find jobs. The food was alright but it did not suite my taste buds. the dumplings on top of red cabbage had little flavor and was a bit bland, while there was way too much red cabbage underneath that was too sour. Other dishes may be better.

Ik bewonder de opzet en doelstellingen van dit restaurant en ze zijn duidelijk succesvol. Voor mij persoonlijk was het eten wat te zwaar. Ik ben geen fan van namaak-vlees en zware sauzen. Voor liefhebbers van de Tsjechische keuken, waarschijnlijk wel een enorme aanrader.
