Great food with a great mission - Edit
We were so excited to eat at Strecha tonight. The restaurant is large and bright. When we first entered we thought it was small, but the restaurant is in the shape of an L and has about three separate seating areas on the long arm. We sat in the very end room which had a couch with a low table and a chess set and a monopoly game. Our servers were very nice and spoke to us in English.
Read moreWe ordered the dumplings on red cabbage and the fried cheese with fries. It was great to get to try some traditional Czech dishes veganized. The food was delicious and the portions were generous - we sadly weren't able to finish our meals because we ran out of room.
We were happy to purchase a pending meal for someone in need.

Good and filling - Edit
Cosy beer hall type restaurant. The food is not fancy, but is good and filling. Had the tofu pâté as a starter. That was very nice and rustic. Main was seitan ribs with plum sauce and mustard dip. The ribs were very filling, a good choice if you need a protein hit. The dip was not very mustardy, otherwise fine.

Really not that good :( - Edit
Ordered the burger and goulash and we have found it generally disappointing when they use store bought sauces in burgers, especially ketchup, makes the whole experience cheap and basic and the buns were also dry and basic.

Really not sure how this is rated so high😒

nice ambience, the main dishes were good but not amazing, but maybe i just dont love czech food? dumplings were a little dry to me, partner said mock duck was not super duck-like. cheese board was fun. we also had a tasty chocolaty dessert i didnt capture. a little pricier than some other places we visited in prague

Nice authentic Czech cuisine - Edit
We tried Guláš and Svíčková, and as a Czech, I think they were pretty good and authentic, but they were not the best I’ve had in Prague. The price was fair.
Read moreWe went on a Monday lunchtime, it wasn’t too busy. The interior is nice and spacious with some big tables for larger groups. It’s easy to book online.
Pros: Authentic Czech dishes, Spacious and easy to book, Friendly staff

Good traditional food - Edit
I had the bread with no-egg tofu spread, the goulash, and a lemonade. I really liked the tofu spread and fresh bread. The goulash was also really good, but a few of the ‘meat’ balls had a different texture to the soft ones (maybe over-fried or undercooked?). It was maybe a tad too salty. I ordered a raspberry & mint lemonade but it was actually a blueberry lemonade, not really an issue but still different to the menu. It was still a good experience overall and I would come back.

Sadly I was disappointed 😞 - Edit
I had such high hopes prior to going tonight. Sadly I was disappointed.
Read moreFirstly I was kept waiting for ages before being seated, and then although my initial food order was taken quickly, I was then forgotten about again.
I was going to grab a dessert but I didn’t bother as I wasn’t even asked (albeit waitress walked past multiple times) so I just got the bill.
Food was meh too. I got the kebab but the pitta was this fluffy thing that would have been impossible to make any sort of kebab with & the chips were very bog standard. I’m never one to moan generally (see my previous reviews!) but I’m sorry to say this place let me down.
Still gave it 3 stars as menu was impressive & restaurant itself was nice. Perhaps I just caught them on the wrong night & ordered the wrong thing? 🤷🏼♂️
Pros: Menu choice. , Restaurant and size of it.
Cons: Food was average. , Service could be so much better. , Bit on the pricey side for what it was.

Great vegan restaurant with czech cuisine - Edit
A very nice vegan restaurant with traditional Czech cuisine. The staff is very friendly. The food tastes very good and the selection ranges from burgers to vegan duck with dumplings. We had the vegan duck and vegan ribs with plum sauce. Both tasted excellent. The cakes also tasted great. The restaurant is very popular so i would recommend a reservation. Would definitely come back.

Way too salty! - Edit
We tried schnitzel, gulasch, kebab, dumplings, no-ribs and some lemonades, everything was really tasty and satisfying, and the service has been fast. I don't give 5 stars, because the dishes were too salty.

I definitely recommend if you want to try some czech dishes, but vegan. We were full and the things we got were nice, could use some slight improvements, but overall good. The staff was also really nice and the price point was normal.

Traditional czech cuisine - Edit
We ordered a kebab plate with fries and pita, a Mojito mocktail, a soy sirloin in creamy vegetable sauce, a cherry red Tequila mocktail and a homemade lemonade (blueberry lavender).
Read moreEverything was very tasty, maybe a bit bland, but you could use some salt and pepper.
For us it was very special, because you don't get the traditional czech cuisine in Germany.
Very very special (in a positive way!) are the mocktails! Very cheap (when you compare the czech prices with german prices..) and you get alcoholfree Tequila, alcoholfree Rum, alcoholfree Gin and alcoholfree Wine. So the Mojito mocktail tasted like an original Mojito.
We paid 40€ for everything.
I don't have to mention that the concept of the restaurant is excellent.
Pros: The czech cuisine, The prices, The concept
Cons: Maybe a bit bland
