Stunning Location, Excellent Meals - Edit
We absolutely loved our stay here and will treasure the memory forever. It's a private cottage. Communication with the host for check in/out and meal delivery was very easy. The space was well equipped with everything we needed for the night, including a helpful guidebook for the area which helped us identify some of the flora and fauna we'd seen. The WiFi was good. The deck offered such a spectacular view, it was really incredible and I've never stayed anywhere like it.
Read moreWe ordered vegan (vegetarian type E) meals, and they were fantastic, really exceeded our expectations. I would definitely recommend it to other vegans on the trails. Our evening meal was a bento box including tempura and delicious vegetables, plus rice and a kind of mushroom hotpot. It was great. Breakfast was salad sandwiches. The bread was tasty, but I would have enjoyed something with tofu or more protein for the day ahead. Our packed lunch contained rice, mock meat, potatoes, and more. Everything was so well seasoned, nothing bland at all.
I'll happily stay here again if I return to the Kumano Kodo.
