Vegan Al Pastor Tacos in Brookhaven

I stopped in for a quick post-hike lunch at Tacos al Pastor in Brookhaven. What brought me in was their dedicated veggie menu featuring vegan al pastor tacos.

The restaurant was very casual and had multiple vegan options available at the counter for order. I ordered an appetizer of chips & guacamole, 2 veggie al pastor tacos, 1 veggie taco, and a tamarind jarritos soda.

The first thing to come out was the guacamole and chips. The chips were freshly made and hot. They were delicious and were great with a simple, but clean and bright guacamole.

My main was the combination of veggie al pastor and veggie tacos. The veggie tacos contained a number of sauteed vegetables such as zucchini, onion, tomato, and pepper and were pretty good. I used some of the house tomatillo sauce and guacamole on top as well. The tomatillo sauce was definitely a winner.

The best thing at Tacos al Pastor was unsurprisingly the Veggie Al Pastor tacos made from oyster mushroom. They were loaded with flavor and only $3.50 per taco. Combined with a Tamarind Jarritos soda, it was a great lunch.

There was a plenty of parking, service was fast and friendly, and the entire meal was very affordable.
