Delicious food, friendly staff. The only downside is you order at the counter and they bring it to you but other than that great overall. Their nachos could use more cheese. Their Muy sauce is awesome. Not a fan of their cream, a tad too runny for me. Cali burrito with barbacoa hits the spot every time.

First of all, my picky kids who aren’t vegan are now claiming this place as their favorite restaurant! They didn’t even realize they were eating vegan food until they saw me try their food. The tacos are amazing, all of them (I made a point to try every single one because: tacos). The carne asada fries are also delicious. But……hear me out. I know the place is called tacotarian, but the best thing in this place had to be the vegan pancakes with their whipped maple butter. My daughter ordered it and we all took turns taking bites. I never had so much food envy before. Best pancakes ever, vegan or not!

This beautifully themed restaurant is a must try! I had the birria tacos and the California burrito. Everything was amazing! The birria tacos were super flavorful. The cheese was perfectly melty. The dipping sauce was so flavorful it really added to the ridiculous yummyness of the tacos. The California burritos were so tasty and filling. The green sauce ots was super delicious without being too spicy. Also the portion sizes were beyond generous. Lastly the staff was so professional, sweet and helpful I really felt taken care of during my meal. If you are ever in the San Diego area this is a must try for vegans and non!

Wow I’m so happy that this place is occupied by another vegan place and it’s PERFECT. It’s in the spot where the Modern Vegan used to be. I was so impressed. Visiting from out of state and found this all vegan Mexican restaurant. Tried their new chimichanga and it was fantastic. Horchata was refreshing and deep fried oreos very good too. I hope I can come back again this week while I'm in town. Atmosphere was nice and workers very friendly.

I have been excited to try the food here, and brought the whole family. We ordered a lot of food! The birria and fish tacos were enjoyed by adults and children alike. We also enjoyed the plantain taco which was very unique. We also tried the asada, mushroom asada, and veggie tacos. If I realized there were mushrooms on the veggie taco I think I would have skipped the mushroom asada. The veggie taco was so much better than I expected! 👌🏼

The atmosphere here is really chill and welcoming. The staff was very helpful and friendly too! We dined in and everything was orderly and clean.

I meant to write this review 6 days ago when they first started serving brunch here in San Diego because, I want everyone to know how good their food is, but at the same time I wish this would remain a secret so it’s always easy to get a table. 😆 Anyway, like I said, hands down, they have the best brunch in SD. Their menu has many great options, it’s hard to choose one. We went there two days in a row, that’s how good it is. We tried the huevos ahogados with a side of bacon, the just omelette and the pancakes… OMG, they are the best vegan pancakes I’ve ever had. For the eggs they use just egg and trust me when I say you’ve never tried vegan eggs that are as great-tasting like these. Their salsas are authentic Mexican salsas, so flavorful!

I almost forgot, I also went there a third day, for tacos but, I wasn’t too impressed, as they didn’t taste like authentic Mexican tacos, not as I expected, for instance; al pastor tacos don’t have cheese or cream. Next time I’ll ask to have them without that, I am sure I will like them a lot better.

And barbacoa made of jackfruit was so well seasoned, took me back 10 years in time (before I went vegan and lived in Mex), it tasted exactly like the real deal, without the meat!!!!! Must try this place! Best new hot deal in town!!
