We stayed at Tanekura Inn surrounded by absolutely beautiful views. Dinner was fully vegan and delicious! Request when booking, gluten free is also available.
There was a nice range of different foods to try and the vegetables are locally grown. The best tempura I've ever had!
We opted for the additional noodle making activity which was fun and informative. We got to eat the soba noodles as part of our meal.
There's also an option to do a tour of the village with the friendly host, or just have a walk around yourself. We got the train from Takayama which took around 40 minutes and the host arranged a taxi for us which wasn't expensive.
Tanekura Inn is located in the prettiest village I've ever seen, which has only 18 local residents. The Inn (Ryokan) is run by a super friendly and kind manager, Yoko. We stayed for 1 night, and had a great vegan meal prepared from local plants, we even went foraging with Yoko and picked wild plants, which she prepared for our dinner! Highly recommended. Tied for the best food we had in Japan.
