Cheap and tasty. Unfortunately I was the only customer and business has been slow. It's tucked away down an alley so can be hard to spot. Friendly and fast service. I recommend.

Tucked away in a cute garden - Edit
Simple menu with great tasting food. The veg fried rice with added peanuts was the best fried rice we've had so far in Nepal! Good portions too. The chocolate momos are a delightful twist on the original recipe!

Friendly and understands vegan needs - Edit
The owner is super friendly and immediately asked if I was vegan when I asked if there were eggs in the pad thai. Food was cooked fresh and the portion was generous. Quite delicious and the place is super cute! Just be warned that the pad thai is actually fried vegetable noodles with peanuts.

Disappointing - Edit
My husband and I ordered a Dahl Baht each, but for some reason we were given only one plate to share.
Read moreThe Dahl itself was nice but one bowl between two of us wasn’t very much, and everything had a lot of salt added.
We also had to wait a long time for the food.
Be warned - if you don’t finish everything on your plate the cook will ask you why!

Worst experience ever, the guy was drunk - Edit
I had the worst experience I ever had in a restaurant. I went there very excited because the reviews I saw. I asked for no spicy in my noodles and I found something very very spicy that made me cry. I was the only guest and the guy was taking care of the children in the restaurant, he made an apple juice that didn't look very nice, he split half in the way to my table, later he split the other half on my table and my scarf, he said he was sorry but I couldn't believe it. I went to the bathroom to clean it but the smell there was unbearable. He tried to put my glass and another one on a little table and he threw both on the ground, he left them there. I waited almost an hour for my momos, while the children was bothering me throwing a balloon into my noodles and myself. The guy was telling me 'please, I'm sorry' all the time but he was playing with the kid and the momos never came. I realized he was very drunk, he smelled like beer very strongly, and started to tell me that I have a very beautiful eyes. I felt very humiliate and uncomfortable, I paid my noodles and I went away.

Unique dishes - Edit
Down a side alley of Lakeside, expect a cosy little restaurant run by a friendly Tara. Service is a little slow but the food is good. I ordered the Simi Nariwal which seems to be a unique creation of hers. Green beans, onion and hard slices of coconut are covered with her special mixture of spices. It is a simple mixture of flavours, but is nevertheless tasty. The juices are seasonal and extremely fresh, pulpy, and delicious.

Cozy local restaurant with vegan options - Edit
Tara prepares all the food fresh, with local ingredients. The owner is really sweet, and the restaurant is located back from the busy road. The food was great- but allow a 30-40 minute wait (it's worth the wait).

I don’t understand the praise. - Edit
I wish it would have been better. With the positive reviews i saw i was expecting much better. I tried the meal with the green beans but wasn’t impressed by it at all. I was alone in the restaurant and it took a while. The electricity went on and off regularly. The neighbors weren’t affected by it.Compare to others options in Pokhara, it’s below average.

Amazing food! So good that I ate 2 dishes in a row! I had the simi Nariwal and the Tara's pad Thai. Great mix of flavour and a great attention to seasoning. Definitely recommend it. The place is mentionned in this french article about Nepal: https://www.laventurevegetale.fr/le-nepal/

Simple and sweet - Edit
Simple but sweet place. The dishes are by no means authentic (pad thai) but it's a nice twist. Can be a long waiting time, so just keep that in mind. I wanted to love the choc momos but they were more of a savoury dish with aniseeds in them I believe.

Vegan momos - Edit
This backyard café can optimize most of the menu for vegan needs and the owners are very friendly here. The momos are good but not spectacular, if you are coming here for vegan momos there are many other places in Lakeside where they are amazing.

OK but nothing special - Edit
We'd seen many good reviews but the place was mediocre. Fried green beans with coconut was pretty bland compared to the spiciness we were promised. Table cloths look like they've not been cleaned for months.

worth many visits to try all - Edit
Small restaurant up a side passage with a simple look with chairs inside and out. Outside is better for a breeze on a hot day. The menu is particularly interesting with nepalese dishes not seen elsewhere. The pad thai is distinctive from that served in Thai restaurants no been sprouts and more peanuts. But delicious nevertheless. The green beens and coconut is excellent too.

Wouldn't recommend the pad Thai - Edit
As someone who lives in Thailand I know what a pad Thai should be, and this wasn't it. They used wheat noodles instead of rice noodles, there was no bean sprouts, no tamarind sauce, the whole dish was way too salty and it was covered with an entire bag of raw peanuts. I couldn't finish it (and I always finish my food). Maybe other dishes were better, but I wasn't prepared to find out.

let's be honest - Edit
I really don't understand why vegans give 5 stars to veg places only because they are veg places (actually not even vegan places). I read all the nice reviews and decided to try the chocolate momos. Well, they were NOT good, sorry. The dough was dry, and the filling nothing special. The place is NOT nice, and in Pokhara you can find many other amazing restaurants offering great vegan offers. Sorry, but let's be honest, this place is not worth a visit.
