Good cheap Vietnamese food

Thanh Tinh Chay recently had a price increase (no more $5 entrees), but their prices are still very reasonable. Lots of good authentic Vietnamese food, with nearly all menu items fully vegan (including the "egg rolls"), and the few items that have eggs (mainly the egg noodles) can be veganized. Good quality and authentic with decent portions.

Pros: tastes good, cheap, good service (including take-out)

Cons: Not all items on menu are available every day

Love this place!

Authentic Vietnamese food that's super affordable and super delicious! This place is not fancy and I love that. There's only a couple of items on the menu that aren't vegan (made with eggs) but even those dishes can be made vegan. They will gladly make the egg noodle dishes with rice noodles instead. The Crepes are sooooo good. It's hard to believe they're vegan but they are! The server is very attentive and keeps your tea cup full. They do take credit cards now.

Pros: Inexpensive, Great Value, Great food

Cons: None!

Finally a cheap vegan spot!

The menu has plenty of options. The average dish is only 5 bucks so you can order quite a bit.

There's nothing too special about the flavors or cuisine here, just good comfort Vietnamese food. It is a bit oily and salty for me to eat with any regularity but that's definitely personal preference.

Definitely give this place a try on rainy days for some noodle soup that hits the spot and doesn't break the bank!

Pros: Cheap!

Can’t pronounce name of restaurant but it’s good

Place is so inexpensive that you can order a lot and try many dishes. Parking in back. If you’re not sure proper way to eat a dish simply ask. They were happy to explain.

Good cheap food

Went with my mom and brother and were pleasantly surprised. We ended up getting 4 items and with tip paid about $25 and we were all full. I listed below what we got and loved

Bi Cuôn -Spring Rolls
Bánh XEèo - Vietnamese Crepe
Com Chiên Xa- Fried Rice with Lemon Grass (w/o egg)
Bún Mang

I told all my co-workers about this place once I got home and I can’t wait to go back

Pros: Delicious , Cheap, Friendly

Vegan in City Heights

The operation is casual. There is no menu at this time and I couldn't discern if there was anything available beyond the Noodle Soup ($5). So I ordered the noodle soup. After ordering the noodle soup a gentleman nipping herbs off their steams pointed me toward a not-hot bar and said I could take a Bánh Patê Sô (veggie "meat" hand pie), so I did.

The soup is, f'ing thank you, not pho. The broth, a murky brown brimming with flavor floats with a variety of mushrooms, fried tofu, sliced yuba cakes, cilantro, rice noodles, and a heavy pinch of black pepper. Arriving with a plate of lettuce, mint, bean sprouts and a slice of sweet Meyer lemon, the gentleman instructed me to add it to the soup. Lettuce in soup seems kind of weird, but turns out, I like it.

Pros: Affordable

Cons: No menu
