Incredible vegan restaurant in Zadar, right by the coast. The staff were very friendly and our waiter recommended some amazing dishes: the gnocchi was probably the best gnocchi we’ve ever had!! We also enjoyed the polenta with oyster mushrooms, the Pigbutt Worm appetiser (😂), and the bounty cake was absolutely divine. Lovely atmosphere, we enjoyed sitting outside near the water.

Enjoyed every mouthful of the dishes we chose💚The menu is so innovative and the wackily-named food combinations are just genius! Would have loved to give 5 stars, as so many reviewers have. However the wine, (at around 32-35 euros a bottle for the cheapest!) was pleasant enough but underwhelming. We’ve had the most beautiful Croatian wines for a fraction of the price. Don’t mind paying for quality but this wasn’t it. Our waiter was friendly and efficient but was on duty alone and so the service, early evening, felt rushed.

Made an unplanned visit here with my boyfriend a few hours after lunch. We loved the atmosphere, service, creativity, and the execution of the dishes so much. We planned to just have dessert, but after looking at the menu, we went for one of the appetizers as well. The food was so delicious we regretted having lunch before our visit to Zadar.

The quality was high class and the best plantbased kitche I ve ever eaten.
The service was also very professionel and recommended us a wonderful redwine, descriped us the meals they served, etc. .
The location is next to the sea and was very comfortable.
Vegans, Vegetarians , here you go and will spend a wonderful evening in a high class, authentic plant based restaurant.
I recommend this great restaurant! :)

We ate at this restaurant three times while we were in Zadar for five days. It is a little on the expensive side, but the food was all delicious. I particularly enjoyed the “fish” dish with cauliflower purée and the polenta with mushrooms. The gnocchi was also very tasty. It is great to have a fully vegan menu to choose from instead of just one option! We also enjoyed the local rosé wine!

This is some of the best vegan food I have had ANYWHERE, not just in Croatia. Absolutely incredible attention to detail and flavour, as well as presentation. Food was inspired and innovative, but also felt recognisable and comforting. Truly fine dining for a fraction of the price.

J’ai été bluffée par le plat « filet mignon » (même si un peu déçue qu’il soit fait avec des protéines de pois…) très réussi et bon, peu de légumes, assiette petite mais suffisante.
Read moreMon mari a pris la salade de « nuggets » (enrobés de pains de industriels à l’intérieur, dommage) et il a été déçu qu’il y ait très peu de roquette alors que c’était écrit comme un des ingrédients principaux, il y avait surtout de la laitue dans le fond. Bons crudités et carottes fumées réussies avec une sauce aïoli délicieuse.
Je n’ai pas été subjuguée par le désert type cheesecake, petit pour le prix et base trop épaisse.
Prix un peu chers.
Pros: Le goût du filet mignon très réussi. , Les sauces et accompagnements avec bons goûts , Beaucoup de choix tentants.

A fully plant based brilliant find while on holiday in Zadar. We had lunch here yesterday. Oh wow!! We shared 2 dishes, the gnocchi with meatballs and the Wellington with stroganoff sauce. Absolutely delicious 😋 Our waiter was so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this place 🙌

Not only is the atmosphere classy and sophisticated, but the food is absolutely incredible. We had the Mata-Mata burger and the Flamingo Tongue Snail (gnocchi). Both were super delicious, excellent portions, and felt like high-end dining - a first for us at a vegan restaurant!

You’re in Zadar, you should eat here. Nice outdoor atmosphere, friendly wait staff but really, whatever… the menu was creative and the food was delicious. We ended up eating here twice. Once for dinner then the next day for lunch (burgers). For dinner I had the Dik Dik and it was really delicious. We also had a cauliflower salad start that we loved. The beat burger was better then the beyond meat style burger in my opinion. You’re still reading?? Eat here, best option in town.

Amazing waterfront location, large place with lots of Seaview tables. Everything was so well presented and prepared. It was definitely elevated vegan food. We had a cold beet soup & cauliflower for appetizer. And then fake fish and fake steak. All was creative and beautiful and yummy…. And then their version of tiramisu was incredible! Pricey but worth it. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Will be back for sure

I had dinner at The Botanist on 3 out of my 4 nights in Zadar; it would have been all 4 nights if I hadn't returned too late from a trip on Tuesday. On each visit I tried something new and I was always thrilled by the flavours, textures and creativity I was presented with.
Read moreThe service was always warm and welcoming, and each night I received excellent recommendations from staff regarding food and drink selections and pairings. A special mention goes to Eva, whose engagement with her guests is absolutely impeccable.
The prices are also very fair for the quality of food on offer. This place is an absolute treasure in Zadar, and I'm tempted to make another trip just to try the dishes I didn't have time for. Or maybe even just to try that amazing tiramisu again.

Lovely vegan restaurant - Edit
The Botanist is a lovely restaurant with an atmospheric terrace overlooking the sea. The food and service was good. I didn’t find the food exciting but I am spoiled for choice where I live and appreciate this is Zadar’s first and only vegan restaurant. It’s quite pricey, so would recommend for a special occasion and not an every day meal.
