A highlight once again - Edit
We had a Virgin Mary (great taste) and an Elderflower Spritz (which barely tasted like Elderflower), the Chipotle Mushrooms and the Chickpea Tagine (both were excellent) plus a Rhubarb Cheesecake which was stunningly good.

One of my fav restaurants! - Edit
The Gate is one of my favourite vegan restaurants in London. I have been going for a good 10 years now and the menu never disappoints. Always fresh and creative, all my meat-eating friends that I bring there are always very impressed. A bit on the pricey side but great for a special meal.

What I hoped it would be - Edit
It was our first plant-based restaurant that we planned to go to in our 5 days in London and it set the bar very high. The atmosphere was chic casual and filled with natural light. The service was friendly and attentive. We had the Green Dragon Salad and the Chipotle Wild Mushrooms. The presentation was beautiful and flavors and freshness were exceptional.

Hit and miss - Edit
It's a very cute environment, super friendly servers, and the menu is varied and unique. I had a feta tart, moussaka, and tiramisu and 2 cocktails.
Read moreThe tart, drinks, and dessert were all incredible. My main was bland and definitely style over substance. A shame because I really wanted to like it, but I would give it another chance.

Great Dining - Edit
Food and service all great!! The restaurant claims to be vegetarian but absolutely everything on the menu was marked as vegan ( no complaints there!). Started with an onion tart. Moussaka was my main course and finished with a blueberry cheezcake.

The food is delicious - Edit
The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation was phenomenal. Unfortunately, our sides came out 15 minutes after our mains, by which point we had finished eating - the staff didn't seem to think this was an issue, but nonetheless, they did remove these items from the bill, appreciated. It's such a treat to be able to order vegan food of such high quality, especially as many places offer fast food.

Will definitely come again - Edit
Staff is amazing, really welcoming, the environment is really nice. They have a beautiful garden and for winter days they have heaters. We ordered Hirata Bun but it was just one bun for £9 so this was a bit unexpected. American pancakes are really delicious except there was too much maple syrup. You might want to ask it on the side.

A lovely building and atmosphere tucked away near the station/bus, the food was amazing and had great portion size for quality of food, more then what you’d expect. Good selection of drinks albeit all a bit pricey but felt overall quite satisfied.
