stopped for a wonderful lunch here on a Wednesday afternoon. the food was great but the service was exceptional. dogs allowed inside and there's loads of cool local art for sale hanging on the Wales. we would definitely come back.

Not much vegan options to choose form but I wouldn't say that The Mumbles is really vegan friendly so you need to take that under consideration

It was really delicious
Service staff was lovely, very nice, polite and welcoming.
Place itself it was clean and well taken care of
Would recommend it to a friend
Food prices are really good for location on the cheap side but like usually soft drinks and beer was quite pricy

3 bean chilli was beans tinned tomatoes & chilli powder. Bland is an understatement. Very few options. The one star is for the decent service not the food

I had the vegan pie, they only had the Sundried tomato one left, but kinda wished I tried something else. It was nice but a bit underwhelming, nice service though. It was really busy.

The guy who served us was very friendly and efficient .
Dog friendly which was a big bonus for us and car parking almost opposite

Good to see vegan options on the menu, but the pumpkin and red lentil pie I had was very poor. It was small, dry and pretty tasteless. Given what vegan pies are available, in particular at supermarkets, I found this very disappointing. After mentioning the small portion size I was brought lots more veg to be fair and the service could not be faulted.

Located next to the sea, it’s in a beautiful place and there are also guest rooms if you are visiting overnight. There are some nice vegan options for main dishes as well as a salad bar with vegan bread which is included with your meal.

Read moreWe met up with some family for dinner here after such a lovely meal last time. It is always worrying when you recommend a restaurant so highly that others may not feel the same. No need to worry in this case... the family loved it as much as we did!
We shared a starter platter which was meant for two but the five of us struggled to finish it so generous was the size! Each of us had different main courses and they too were large and absolutely delicious. Unfortunately none of us had room for dessert!
I cannot recommend this restaurant enough for good, honest, home cooked food at a very reasonable price. The Mermaid remains as one of our favourite restaurants and we can't wait to go back.
