A really wonderful restaurant - Edit
Our first time here since moving to Peoria. The Queen Of Squash will definitely be in the rotation of places with vegan options! Food was excellent, service is top-notch, atmosphere is relaxing. Loved it!

Tejano-Approved Queso - Edit
idk to what degree this Tejano’s opinion represents a Texas vegan’s, much less a Chicano’s or Mexicano’s, palate, but I know what I like! I had the mountain of nachos with house made vegan queso. Sprinkled with the house Queen of Spice spice mix, it was amazing. I’m somebody that demands flavor and the nachos delivered! Not quite the way I’m used to my nachos being topped and I’m not particularly a fan of butternut squash (or any winter squash), but I respect creativity and it was nonetheless delicious. Only thing I would change is adding pickled jalapeños b/c they are a MUST for nachos and would just introduce another level to the flavor, though I could see it ruining the fresh theme of the plate if that is what the aim is.
Read moreI didn’t have room for dessert, so I did take home a banana nut bread shaped like angel’s food cake. Great flavor and the moistness you’d expect from banana nut bread. The coconut cream icing on top was delicious and topped with fresh strawberry slices I believe were soaked in a simple syrup.
All was well-done and well worth the price. Staff was fantastic. And they offer cocktails and mocktails.
Pros: Flavorful

Many vegan options! - Edit
So many vegan options! Tons of GF also. They do serve meat for your omnis. Restaurant is cute with great service. I had the Buffalo chickpea flatbread which was wonderful & huge. My husband had the nachos which had the best toppings I’ve ever seen on nachos.

Nice options! - Edit
We had a couple of drinks, the vegan nachos, and the veggie burger. Everything was great and tasted like real food #fresh (not processed or pre-chopped). Service was nice and knowledgeable.

Best place in Peoria for vegan options. - Edit
By far the best place in town, now that Radish Kitchen has closed, for healthier vegan options. Over half the menu can easily be made vegan (even offer vegan mozzarella) with notes in the description for ordering vegan, and for the people that like eating meat there are options to add to most dishes as well. The service was excellent and was a nice chill ambiance for a Saturday afternoon late lunch.

Fantastic potential here! - Edit
Queen of Squash is newly opened, so I’m taking that into account w/ this review. The decor is lovely and very inviting. We sat at the bar and appreciated the many options available. I ordered the pulled jackfruit w/ apple slaw on a vegan bun. My carnivore husband had the Cuban flatbread. He loved it! The crust was nice and thin and the cheese was melty. Good flavors there. My entree was well portioned and the vegan bun with poppy seeds was a nice touch. The jackfruit however, needed more flavor. It was dependent upon the bbq sauce on the bun. The texture was also an issue. Jackfruit should be seared to make the texture a bit more... toothsome/ meaty. All in all a very nice experience and will definitely return when we’re back in town.
