Wish I could give it 5 stars! - Edit
Absolutely delicious food on offer here. It's a really cosy traditional Bosnian restaurant nestled away. If you sit downstairs, you have maybe two other tables around you. The menu is clearly marked with coloured circles to indicate what is vegetarian and / or vegan for example. I wanted to try as much as I could eat and can't recommend enough the vegan purple cabbage stew option which included sultanas and strawberries (?!) and into which I dipped nettle bread (a novel one for me). I also had a Bosnian coffee (vibes of Turkish style) tried nettle juice (delicious) and the baklava was decadent. My server changed midway through, with the second one speaking English very well, but even with the former it wasn't a problem re communication.

Amazing! Must try - Edit
We were so lucky to find this place. The food was fantastic and the owner/staff was so friendly.
Read moreHe greeted us in English and when he heard I was trying to communicate I’m Bosnian, he was kind enough to teach me a few useful phrases too.
There are a few vegan options and desserts and the menu is really clear. The atmosphere is also nice - nice decor and relaxing music.
The Baklava may have had honey on. I wasn’t 100% sure, but it’s not a big deal for me anyway. If you want to avoid honey, perhaps check with them when ordering.
I wish we could return!

Great food, big choice of vegan and vegetarian food - Edit
Tasty food served on beautiful traditional plates, friendly staff and cheap prices. You have big choice even as vegan. Restaurant itself is really cute and you can listen there to traditional Bosnian music, what makes the "traditional food experience" even better😄

Delicious and vegan conscious - Edit
The restaurant is super cute and has filling, tasty dishes. The owner is vegan conscious so the menu always has veg and vegan options clearly marked. There's also always more than one vegan option which I appreciate.

Great vegan friendly tavern - Edit
Such a nice cozy little tavern with home cooked Bosnian food with a twist - everything is made with nettle! The owner doesn't speak English but we made it work, no problems getting a fully vegan meal.
Read moreVegan options are clearly labeled on the menu, and there are quite a few to choose from. Don't miss the savory nettle donuts with hummus!! The hummus wasn't anything to write home about but the donuts were AMAZING and so affordable. I believe it was 3.5 km for a giant pile of donuts.
Everything else we got was quite tasty as well. It was a bit oily but restaurant food usually is so that didn't bother us - it was high quality olive oil anyway.
Really nice place for vegans in Sarajevo.
Pros: Lots of marked vegan options, Yummy homemade food

Confusing - Edit
Ordered from the vego and vegan menu and was served a plate of rice with veal skewers. At first I thought, this seitan looks and smells a lot like meat. And alas... The owner told me he spoke german so we communicated in that language because his English wasn’t good, but even with pointing at the menu, i was unable to have it understood that I wanted a vegan meal. Very confusing and disappointing as the menu looked quite nice! I left hungry and went somewhere else.

Dear Toby101,
Read morePlease accept sincerest apologies for this mistake. New waiter probably confused the order, even though the segment of vegan/vegetarian menu is clearly separated from the rest of the menu and I cannot understand how this had happened. For what its worth, we are so sorry for dissatisfying experience you've had, especially because at any point we have at least 5-6 veg options to choose from. I will relay your comment to our staff hoping this does not happen ever again.

Very cozy restaurant! - Edit
Great food, great live music, great staff, cheap prices! The food is very tasty and in the menu there is a part dedicated to vegetarian food, so you cannot get wrong; the waitress is very nice in explaining you the dishes. You can bring your non-veg friends, they will be happy! I also liked the position, out of the mess of the old town but just behind the cathedral, so very close to the center

super fresh and yummy - Edit
We had a meal made of sides but it was super yummy! We had a cabbage salad, root veg salad, mushrooms on rice and hommus and home made bread, shared between 2 which was the perfect amount. Super lovely staff and the food was so fresh and tasty! The atmosphere is really nice and cozy, such a cute little place! Would be great if there was a vegan main dish though as what we had was almost the only vegan things.

Friendly restaurant with a few veggie options - Edit
The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the service was great. I had a tasty vegan meal made up of starters and salads (hummus and bread, olives, vegetables and salad). There was no vegan main but my friend had the vegetarian ravioli (nettle and cheese) and said it was excellent. There were other vegetarian options including soups, salads and a couple of mains. As a restaurant the place is lovely, and it’a fairly hard to find vegan food in Bosnia, so I was happy with my meal. Would have been extra happy with a vegan main and clearly labelled food (vegetarian and vegan) but still really enjoyed the place!
