The best Thunder Tea Rice EVER! AND More!

My hubby and I came here for lunch and oh my goodness, we were blown away by the amazing dishes served here!! The thunder tea rice was impeccable with each ingredient meticulously cut and cooked to perfection. The cha soup was packed full of flavour and was thick, not watered down. Then we ordered the secret recipe braised tofu which accidentally came out as a meal and we were SO GLAD it came out as a meal, because the rice was braised in that delicious braised brown sauce and the tofu was melt in your mouth wonderful. This braised tofu meal was so good, I'd say it's tied in first place with being the best meal there (along with the Thunder Tea Rice)! We also ordered the mushroom mee, which was good, but compared to the braised tofu and TTR, it was second or third in place. Hahaha, and the freshly made and fried wontons are fantastic. Super light and crispy, and not overly oily. In fact, all of the meals were less oily than most veg Chinese dishes. Ten thumbs up!!

Pros: The best Thunder Tea Rice, The best Braised Tofu Rice, Cheap as! And so delicious!

Cons: None!

yummy, healthy, filling 🤤

a nice store specialising in thunder tea that uses mainly locally sourced organic ingredients! the staff are friendly and the portion is large! given the food’s quality, the price point is definitely worth it. you’ll leave feeling satisfied and healthy.

we ordered:

1. mushroom kolomee $4.80
the fav in my family! springy noodles tossed in special sauce and a good portion of various ingredients! sooo good i can’t put it in words. would definitely recommend!

2. lei cha rice $6.80
a refreshing dish, rice with the typical ingredients you’d expect with a bowl of the lei cha soup! the menthol flavour is not overpowering and is rather pleasant!

3. lei cha kolomee $4.80
a good option if you’re looking for the best of both worlds of the lei cha rice and mushroom kolomee. has the lei cha rice ingredients but served with noodles in the special sauce. yummy!

4. king oyster mushroom kolo mee $4.80
just like the mushroom kolo mee, just w king oyster mushroom instead! i would prefer the regular mushroom version as there’s slightly more mushroom 😬

also saw a new dishes added to the “today’s special board”!

Pros: healthy, mostly organic, filling meals, friendly staff, reasonable price, yummy

Healthy and Delicious

Every ingredient is organic (except noodles I think?) and fresh and well prepared. Tastes like a good hearty delicious meal but at the same time healthy. Would recommend getting the signature leicha rice, as its the most worth it (filled with veg) and imo best tasting. Awesome service too!!

Pros: Fantastic food! , Good value , Excellent service

Cons: Could be busy and hard to find seats

Healthy and fresh hawker food!

This felt like the healthiest thing I ate in my week in Singapore. Not oily like most of the hawker foods. The food tasted really fresh with herbs, greens, tofu and a sprinkling of peanuts and beans. Quite a balanced meal. The tea broth for pouring on the rice was also delicious!

Delicious Dinner

I was there when they were about to close. They offered me a mix of what they had left, it was a rice bowl with tofu, mushrooms, and salad; and the green soup from herbs and sesame. It tasted delicious and light. Will definitely come back, looking forward to going there when they have their full variety of dishes.

Pros: Healthy dishes, Great taste

Hakka Lei Cha! Oishi!

Simply love Hakka Lei Cha! Oishi! One bowl is never enough, I would ordered 2 bowls. No one serves the Hakka Lei Cha Rice Set quite like Thunder Tree, the speciality is in the rice itself, a different texture, fragrance and flavorful.

The Lei Cha Noodle is another item which I think the health-conscious diner would love. As a chilli lover, I think this noodle dish would go best with red/green padi with soy sauce! But they have their special green chilli paste, something like the Thai green chilli paste.

The Yam Porridge is a light yet comforting meal - simple and tasty.

Clean flavours, great handmade noodles

The noodles are handmade and most ingredients are organic. Their specials are tasty and simple, flavours are wholesome and clean so you feel nourished after a bowl. Both the rice and noodle specials are good and you can choose the amount of tea or broth poured in the bowl. Good value and delicious.

Pros: All vegan, Fresh, Good value for organic, vegan food

Cons: Food court can be busy at lunchtimes

King oyster mushroom kolo mee

This is my first time eating at this stall and I tried the king oyster mushroom kolo mee ($4.80). Even though the noodles looks very plain, but the sauce was very flavorful despite it being a healthy dish. The noodle was cooked just nice and had a springy texture. However, the portion was quite small and I felt only half full after finishing the noodles. The ingredients were fresh and most of the ingredients used were organic and I am not complaining about the price though. I just wished the portions were a bit bigger and I wouldn't mind paying more for it.

Pros: Healthy, Flavorful

Cons: Small portion

Delicious Lei Cha!:)

The lei cha is $6.80, but super worth it IMO. Healthy ingredients, not overpowering ‘cha’! They also have lei cha ramen and other dishes, but the lei cha is my favourite from this stall.

Opening hours- it’s mentioned that it’s closed on Sundays, but if 初一 / 初十五 falls on Sunday then they will be open.

Pros: organic, healthy

Cons: none

Yummy, healthy ramen

Really liked the chewy texture of the ramen & how the noodle base & the soup aren’t too salty. I’d have preferred a thicker soup, but that’s just my personal taste xP The price is pretty reasonable, considering that most of the ingredients are organic! :)

Pros: Yummy, Healthy, Affordable

Amazing thunder tea rice at good prices!

The taste really blew me away - it was so hearty and tasty that I couldn't stop eating it. The tea was a bit too strong for my liking but the rice was really delicious.

one of the best I’ve tried

Love the thunder tea rice here! The owner is extremely friendly! I recommend you to specially request for their homemade chilli to pair with the thunder tea rice (note: it’s extremely spicy!)

Organic and locally sourced

They use mainly organic ingredients sourced from a local organic farm.
None of those MSG, artificial flavour or artificial colouring.
The portion can be a bit small for some.
Dishes that I recommend:
Thunder Tea Rice 擂茶飯
Mushroom Kolo Mee 香菇哥羅面,
Toona Fried Rice 香椿炒飯
