Fantastic dinner - Edit
Sometimes when I see a large menu I worry that the quality of the food isn't going to be great, but that's not the case with Tisch. Everything I tried was wonderfully made and absolutely delicious: the cheese platter, spinach dumplings with blue cheese sauce, and of course, the legendary kaisershmarrn.
Read moreService was very welcoming and friendly and all in all, dinner at Tisch was a great experience.
(I came back for the brunch that weekend and was a bit less impressed – the buffet didn't have a lot of options and my main dish wasn't that exciting.)

Tried typical austrian food here - Edit
We wanted to have the typical austrian food, vegan, of course, and that's why we chose this restaurant. For entries we order the polenta with shitake mushrooms and it was absolutely delicious. One of the main dishes we had was from the special holidays menu - Stuffed seitan goose-roast with chestnut-mushroom stuffing, gravy, potato dumplings, red cabbage stew with orange and lingonberries-, and the other one the schnitzel with potato salad and lingonberry jam. They were both very tasty. Having jam in savory dishes and such strong spiced cabbage is not something we have in our country's culinary culture so it was weird and interesting at the same time. The place is cozy.

Overpriced when considering the quality - Edit
We had had "vegan goose" and were a bit disappointed. While it tasted quite okay the sauce was more like a lake, very watery and thin. The faux goose was far to soft and accompanied by only two and a half potato dumplings which were very small. And all that for almost 26 EUR.
Read moreWe then ordered some cake and "tiramisu". The Schwarzwälder cake, which normally is moist and tender, was quite dry (old?) and didn't taste like much, but the tiramisu really was a disgrace: neither the taste nor the look of it resembled tiramisu at all. It was just some quite sour and lightly sweet, thick cream with a very thin layer of "biscuit" at the bottom.
I'm normally full very fast, but I wasn't filled up afterwards and the food in general was disappointing, especially considering the price.

We are sorry you were not satisfied with our dishes! Very often our customers are too full and cannot finish some of their dishes, and to reduce and prevent food waste, we are very happy to give "nachschlag", some more extra, upon request to anyone, which is why our team regularly also checks in with our customers. Unfortunately our Team cannot recall any complaints, neither about the sweets, nor about the salty dishes from this time, neither in quality nor about the amounts. We would be happy to welcome you again in our restaurant and give you a chance to try our fresh desserts, recommedations, weekly specials. We also have since November 2024 all you can eat brunch once a month, and we are happy to give you a quote or discount for a future visit to make up for the experience. We are sorry our waiters didn't get your feedback during your visit, so we can make up and fix whatever might have gone wrong during your visit, on the spot.

The menu is huge! There are so many interesting items I didn't get to try. The portions were a bit small for the price, though the food was good.

Austrian food, friendly staff - Edit
We ordered the schnitzel and the beef bourginion for mains. We were really impressed by both for their flavour, richness and quality. Also really liked the cheese dumpling soup. The menu is very different and quite special compared to other places. Nice vibe inside and the staff were incredibly friendly. Nice to try some véganised Austrian food.

Einfach Top - Edit

Go Here!!! - Edit
If you want an incredible experience and authentic tasting Austrian food in Vienna, go here! Wow! The Wiener Schnitzel tasted exactly like the meat version I had growing up. My dad, who is a huge fan of Wiener Schnitzel and is not vegan, was amazed. The service was excellent- our waitress was so sweet and accommodating. Ambience was terrific- we sat outside in the evening. Also, the location is terrific- very close to the old city. If you are looking for an accurate representation of Austrian food, definitely go here!!

Wonderful restaurant - Edit
The food and service were great, had a lovely time at the restaurant. We tried some seasonal dishes like the artichoke as well as their classic schnitzel and carbonara (I couldn’t believe they were plant based!). All the dishes felt so well put together. Do not skip desert!

My favourite!! - Edit
My absolute favourite vegan restaurant in Vienna. If you're looking to try "traditional Viennese cuisine", but vegan, then this is the place to go. Some dishes became smaller in size over time, but I'll simply have more dessert to make up for it. Perfect date night location as well, and lovely staff.

Good seitan spare ribs, very expensive - Edit
I had the seitan spare ribs which were great and a chocolate cake, which unfortunately tasted terrible. The other two people I was with had the gnocchi, which were good but the portion was to small and the 'Backhendlsalat' which, according to the other person tasted nothing like chicken.

Dear Vegiana
Read moreThank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear you liked our vegan ribs and gnocchis with blue cheese sauce. As many of our customers complained for too big portion sizes, we are adjusting them according to the feedback, to prevent unnecessary food waste. We are more than happy however to provide any extra bites, should it be not sufficient, just let us know please so we can accommodate each appetite. Our team members regularly ask our guest, if everything is to their liking and expectations, unfortunately occasionally we get overall positive feedback from our customers, with omitting that not everything was completely to their liking. This prevents us unfortunately to check if something was too little or didn't meet your taste, or when human mistakes happen. Our chocolate cakes are so far overwhelmingly loved, which is why we are very surprised to hear, you didn't like it.
Our chicken of the woods is not chicken, but completely vegan, and not processed "meat replacement" it is made from mushrooms, that are tasting like mushrooms, and have the consistency of chicken filet. The mushroom is literally called chicken of the woods, its a wild growing, seasonal mushroom, and a specialty.
Last but not least, about the prices, we have since a few years a solidarity pot to reduce the bill for whoever has the need for it. Its a pay it forward system and we always have enough resources, so please do not hesitate to use the solidarity pot!
In January we also have a veganuary special offer, where anyone can come and if they don't like their dish, its on the house, its on us! never has it been easier to try veganism, after all! :D

Mein veganer Traum in Wien… - Edit

Cool experience - Edit
Nice location away from the busy tourist streets but near the 13A bus. Very creative and special dishes. The drink was also very fancy and nice. The potato salad wasn’t really my taste as it was very onion-y but the Backhendl out of mushroom was really good (could have been a little more for my taste). Lots of tables outside, only a bit annoying as it is very easy to accidentally knock over a glass on them (unfortunately did that).

Awesome! - Edit
Very nice and friendly service, staff is constantly moving around the restaurant checking the guests have everything they need without intruding. Had the best Schnitzel, my partner had the Spareribs and she also enjoyed those very much.
Read moreCame back the day after, she had chicken of the woods taco, also recommended. I had the carbonara, if it wasn't purely vegan I'd have asked if there was egg in it. After cocktails and a break we had the cheese platter, our favorite was the gorgonzola. I had to also stop myself from drinking the Makava (Mate icetea) in one sip, as i really enjoyed it. Though from experience Mate is an acquired taste so people who don't drink Mate softdrinks might have a different experience. Our favourite restaurant in Vienna!
