Why have we never been here before??

Delicious Ethiopian & “global” cuisine with a laid-back atmosphere and a seemingly very well-run operation. Should’ve come here sooner & will definitely be back!

Went back mid-2025–food is still amazing

Delicious separate vegan menu

I’m not a fan of eating at non-vegan places but seeing that this restaurant had a separate plant-based menu and wanting a break from the sandwiches from the nearby vegan places, I decided to try this place.

I was pleasantly surprised by the abundance of flavors and options. My non-vegan companion also ordered from the plant-based menu and was vowed.

We are definitely coming back when in the area again to try the rest of their plant-based menu - I just wish they opened earlier than 5pm on the weekdays.

Cons: Not open for lunch on weekdays , Not fully vegan

Betted than New Orleans

I'm a foodie and a vegan chef. The food here is legit. I don't say that very often. This is now in my top 3 restaurants on the east coast

Vegan brunch

Umana has a separate vegan brunch menu with some very good options. We had the tofu scramble and the hash and Johnny cake. The scramble had very nicely spiced black beans and delicious tofu. The hash had a nice spicy kick to it and Johnny cake is hard to find in Albany. Great staff and very clean gender neutral restrooms.

I would have given this five stars if it would let me!

Great customer service! MAKE SURE TO ORDER OVER THE PHONE BECAUSE DOOR DASH TAKES A LOT OF THE PROFITS!!!

Pros: Delicious , Lots of flavor , Black owned!
