Favorite Sandwiches! - Edit
VDB is my favorite restaurant in Saint Louis. I go here weekly for a pick me up mid-week sandwich. All of their sandwiches are great and I love trying new specials. It also helps that this location is one of the closest vegan resultants to me about ten minutes away.
Read moreSmall but mighty crew with Chef Chris leading the pack. My favorite go to sandwich is the Chopped Cheese (cut in half to share!) with party pots (funeral potatoes) on the side. Also the cevapi is another of my favorite go tos but I love switching up sandwiches on the menu or the specials. All time favorite sandwich so far is the roast beef sandwich but always love the new soup and sandwiches combos.
I can be picky about good restaurants for the value because I cook a lot of vegan food at home. If I feel like if I can make it better at home I don’t want to patron a business as often. Chris is talented in a lot of ways and he makes the sandwiches with optimal flavor and balance.
One of my favorite community spots as I have made several friends while bonding over are love of this restaurant in Bevo!

I love this place. Favorite sandwich is the boston beef. I’ve been all over and I’ve never seen a vegan chicago italian beef or boston beef before. They have multiple specials throughout the week that they announce on instagram too. The sandwiches are absolutely massive for what they cost. They can get busy and sell out (particularly the specials) so I’d recommend going earlier than later.

The sandwiches are big and the variety is incredible for vegans. Our party had the chopped cheese, pizza sub, and Reuben. The only maybe negative was the cheese on the Ruben (no one in our party cared for it), but our entire group loved everything else.

I love this place! The owner makes everything in house no Impossible or Beyond here. I finally was able to experience the Big Mac special and it was gigantic and delicious! I love the mac n cheese, the frozen pizzas and the desserts. I don't know how he does it! I love the Vegan Deli & Butcher decal it's great! I wish I lived closer I would go weekly. Definitely sells out quick so get there early or check Instagram page for info because traveling 30 + minutes just to get there and they be sold out is a bummer.

I’ve had Vegan Deli and Butcher twice so far and both times it’s been amazing. I’m always wary of vegan foods trying to hard to imitate meat but I think Chris (owner) has found the perfect mix. I will say I’ve only had the Italian Cold Cut. Will be going back for more though.

Bad pun? Bad pun. No but for real best vegan place in the city, unique concept and the staff & owners are super friendly and attentive. The only complaint I have is that they're not open 24/7 because it's all I want to eat! Got the hot Italian sandwich and cheddar broccoli soup.

Oh my gosh. That’s truly the best thing to say about this place. I tried the Italian Cold Cut (hoagie, ham, turkey pepperoni, provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, pepperoncini, mayo, and vinaigrette) and it was seriously one of the best things I’ve eaten. It reminded me of the sandwiches my dad used to make me for lunch as a kid. The owners were telling us that they make the vegan meats in house which is even more impressive - because honestly, they are soooooo good. The atmosphere is clean and chill. They have some take away food to cook in the fridge including taco meat and a couple types of pizzas. I also tried the jumbo crumb cupcake and that was very tasty. Yum!

Chris is a fo meat wizard. You haven't lived until you try his amazing food. There is a reason he rings out of food to sell almost daily. Get there early. No guarantees after 3pm. Totally worth the drive in hopes of partaking in his delicious deli eats.

I love all their food! Had never tried bagel & lox before and it's really great! See if you can catch their chicken salad sandwiches when those are on the menu, but honestly everything is great, especially the chermoula turkey. And all vegan. I got the French dip this time!

Read moreCute place in a new area St Louis to explore when in town visiting the spawn, great selection of sandwiches. Had the Hot Salami and was not disappointed! Wife enjoyed her chili as well.
Sandwich was stuffed with lettuce, onion and all the juicy accoutrements. The “salami” was flavorful and top notch in texture and vibe. Softer/chewier than the meat version but that was a plus for me in a sandwich like that.
Discovering the candy bar brand they are stocking for dessert (forgot the name, based out of Salt Lake City) was just an added bonus. They were amazing
Chris and the team were super friendly, and was a very welcoming experience as well. Will be back to try more next time we’re in town for sure.
Frozen pizzas to go as well if you need one :-). Prices were reasonable as well.
Oh. And the neighboring windmill was a tourist surprise despite many trips to the Lou previously.
Pros: Sandwich experience top notch , Vibe and staff great, Windmill with history to Google across the street
Cons: I can’t eat 2 sandwiches. They’re big. :-)
