High quality local food - Edit
Delicious food, big portions, friendly staff. I especially liked the savoury pie, and there's probably the best vegan kebab in Istanbul - not oversalted and fair amount for it's price.

Nice place - Edit
Food was lovely. I had the manti and it was so good, and the affogato. I saw some other desserts to other tables and they looked beautiful, although I was too full to treat myself.
Read moreI was dining alone and a friendly cat decided to jump up and sit across from me the entire meal. Cute little place full of plants and you can see the staff and kitchen from your table.
Service was a little weird - not especially friendly or active, but it was closing time and maybe was a cultural difference.
Not a negative, but this place doesn't serve alcohol which was a surprise to me in a restaurant. I think it's a Turkish norm though.

Vegan Gem - Edit
I have not been in Türkiye since being vegan, and I was very concerned I wasn't going to be able to find any of the signature Turkish dishes made vegan. I was pleasantly surprised and blown away. So fresh and so good - highly recommend!

Ultra lecker, bisschen teuer - Edit
Es war sehr lecker und das Essen war sehr frisch. Man muss sich im Klaren sein, dass es etwas teuerer ist, aber uns war es den Preis auf jedenfall wert:)

The best vegan food in Istanbul! - Edit
The traditional Turkish ravioli and the kebab were SO amazing. Even after being back home for a couple of weeks, I still think about those dishes. My only notes for improvement is that the two desserts I tried were quite dry and the tofu katsu was just ok.

Exceptional food from a small place - Edit
The restaurant is only small but the quality of food being produced was amazing and my partner and I both left happy with the choice. We had the hummus on toast and the special Turkish ravioli. Both dishes were well prepared and thought through with a lot more to the plates than the description gives. Their prices are also really good given the quality and having the shop next door is a nice bonus too.

Best avocado on toast we’ve ever had - Edit
Came for dinner breakfast the next day. Quite expensive but quality food and ingredients
Read moreAvocado toast - best we’ve ever had
Scrambled tofu sujuk- seasoning and flavours were so good
Borek (spinach cheese) - best thing we had in the evening, full of flavour and good textures
Traditional ravioli - meat fillings and creamy sauce were so good
Kebab - good but not amazing
Brownie - heavenly but needs the ice cream otherwise slightly dry
Tiramisu - big portion and really good
Only thing we didn’t like was the peanut butter latte - it’s just a latte with scoop of peanut butter which doesn’t blend and sits at the bottom, you can’t taste it
Pros: Avo toast, Borek (spinach cheese) , Traditional ravioli
Cons: Peanut butter coffee , Price

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING - Edit
The best place I had in Istanbul! The manti was amazing, and I still think about it even now that I’m back home. The Kebab was also amazing and so flavorful. We also got the regular raviolis and they were fine, but definitely order the Turkish ravioli if you’re deciding between the two. The homemade savory pie “börek” was also a top favorite of the evening!

Great Food and Friendly Folks - Edit
We came into the establishment well prepared with a menu from months before thanks to Happy Cow. Because the eatery was so far away from our hotel, we ordered a host of dishes to carry back and refrigerate over the remaining days of our stay.
Read moreThe staff at Vegan Dukkan Lokanta (VDL) was quite friendly and chatted with us as we waited for our order to be completed while our non-vegan ride circled the block. They offered us tea and a refreshing cucumber water along with engaging conversation. They had golden oldies playing in the background and that just added to the ambience.
What we ordered:
The spaghetti.
The ravioli without lentils.
Adana kebab on rice.
Quiche
Apple crumble
Tiramisu
Brownie with ice cream
The lemonade,
Our favorites were:
The Spaghetti
The Tofu Katsu curry.
Adana kebab on rice.
Apple crumble.
The brownie and ice cream.
Tiramisu
Spaghetti - lovely
Turkish pasta does not appear to be salted the way we do in the Caribbean and the US but the sauce and the meatballs balanced everything out
Tofu Katsu Curry - very nice
The curry was flavorful and a welcome dish after having only sauted veggies for breakfast at the hotel (nice but not 100% satisfying) the breaded tofu went well with the curry and rice.
The Adana kebab on rice was scrumptious. The white sauce was light and yummy. And the paste over the rice had a nice hint of hot pepper here and there for flavor.
The apple crumble was delish. It was crumbly on the edges and cake-y in the middle. So glad we ordered that.
Delish.
The brownie and the ice cream were really nice. The brownie was rich, as it should be, and the ice cream was a nice treat.
The Tiramisu…omigoodness!!!! I don’t remember how non vegan Tiramisu tastes but wow, VDL’s version is a must try, in my books.
I wanted to try the Magnum ice cream bar, but I understand the manufacturer may have discontinued them 😭.
Folks, I really wanted to have pics of every meal but we were usually so hungry from exploring and then fighting to get things warmed up at our hotel (they were not too happy with outside food), that we just devoured some dishes forgetting to snap pics. If you are in Istanbul take some time to try VDL. Hands down they were the best we had on our stay.
10 out of 10, highly recommend!

Son muy amables. La kombucha de lavanda riquísima. Probamos el hummus de remolacha (muy rico), la berenjena espectacular y los raviolis exquisitos también. El pan que te ponen está calentito.

The food in here is beyond delicious! There is a big variety to choose, and all of them looked incredible. I wish I could eat them all!!! The ingredients used are super fancy, and due to that the prices are higher.
