great range, all vegan.

A little cafe underneath a store. All food is vegan, pre cooked in a Bain Marie, 15TL gets you three choices. Because it's pre cooked it is reheated so not as good as if fresh made, but really filling food and great to have the variety. Important to support a fully vegan place in Istanbul!

Pros: Range, filling , all vegan

traditional turkish food

Very nice cafe with moderate prices. They dont really speak english here but all the food is on display so you can point at what you want. Open everyday and you can try many traditional turkish dishes vegan. 100% vegan also has a vegan shop above cafe so you can buy your products although a little pricey. Negative is everything is already made so it gets reheated which sometimes comes out luke warm. Try the pede. There vegan chocolate mousse is the best ive ever had a must try. There sweets like baklava tend to be better than the savoury options.

Pros: traditional dishes great desserts

Cons: they dont speak much english and the food is rehea

Not a bad option in Taksim area

Vegan Istanbul is about a 7 or 8 minute walk down Sıraselviler caddesi, then turning right just at Firuzağa Camii.

The upper floor has a small selection of vegan goods, while the cafe/restaurant is downstairs, with tables and (I think) a very small outside patio area at the back.

You can get a plate for 12 TL and select three options from about eight or nine. These are typically things like veggie meatballs, cooked aubergine dishes, "mücver" style vegetable burgers and savoury things like that (you can also get more than three for a bit extra).

Unfortunately they do indeed sometimes seem to have to use a microwave to heat up these dishes, which does affect the texture and flavour, I suppose it's a difficult problem for small places when they don't have enough customer turnover to keep cooking hot dishes.

They do have some other options apart from the mixed plate selection. At one time, we had Turkish sigara böreği style fried spring rolls filled with either vegan cheese or leek and vegetables. They were able to freshly fry these, and they were excellent, especially the leek version (why not have both vegan cheese and veg. in one).

Other options are vegan burgers and Turkish vegan-style lahmahcun. The burgers were honestly not great, however the lahmahcun was quite good and seemed pretty much as close as you could get to the non-veg version while remaining meat free.

They also have a reasonable selection of vegan desserts for a low price, including vegan version of baklava which is otherwise very difficult to find in Istanbul. I tried some of the mastic-flavoured chocolate cake which was quite good.

Prices are quite reasonable. Fresh orange juice was excellent. They can also make vegan version of Turkish drinks such as ayran.

Pros: Good selection of all-vegan food, Quite authentic vegan versions of Turkish dishes, Inexpensive, some nice options & desserts

Cons: Some main dish options may have to be reheated

meh

If your hungry and this is the closest place to you then its fine but i wouldn't go out of my way to get there
The food is reheated on a microwave and is mushy and somewhat flavorless
But i had a cupcake which was pretty amazing

Excellent variety!

It was an excellent treat to come here. We'll certainly come again while we're in Istanbul. The best part is being able to try veganized versions of traditional Turkish dishes, since there is normally so much dairy. Seating area is small but comfortable.

Pros: Amazing vegan variety.

Cons: Bring your Turkish dictionary. Fair enough!

This is the place.

This is definitely the best vegan place in istanbul I've come across so far. Vegan istanbul is located just behind the main square in Cihangir. This restaurant/cafe has many traditional homemade dishes and vegan fast food alternatives like Lahmacun, Pide, Falafel. Run by lovely people. The best thing is, unlike most vegan places in Istanbul, it's totally affordable. Vegan doesn't have to be a rip-off! Most plates are less then 10 liras and you can get mixed plates. If you check their Facebook page, it's pretty self explanatory :) They update frequently so it's possible to follow the daily varieties and prices. There is also a shop upstairs with main Turkish vegan products like Cheese, Tofu, Döner, Köfte, Schnitzel. I wish I lived closer. :)

Pros: Cheap and cosy., Loads of alternatives: Traditional to Fast Food, Shop upstairs, so you can pick up stuff you need

Cons: Maybe the shop can offer even more?
