The food seems to be home cooking style food and is ordered at the till from behind a counter. This is then re heated and served. That is the only real criticism from me. The food tasted nice and you get a massive portion for the cost. But it is reheated and loses some of its appeal.
We had a really Turkish meal that cost 110TRL each plate.
Pros: Home style cooking, Cheap
Cons: A bit far away, Reheated food.

Best value we had in our whole Istanbul stay. Really a big and delicious portion for just 110 lira! 🙌🏼

Lovely owners and family-style Turkish food - Edit
We visited Vegan Istanbul a few times during our stay in the city in April 2023. Food is tasty, homemade and inexpensive. You can choose 3 or 4 dishes from a varied assortment which includes traditional family-style Turkish foods veganiazed. The owners are really friendly, the atmosphere is quiet. They also offer Turkish desserts like baklava or mosaic cake.

I arrived to Vegan Istanbul after working up an appetite from climbing the many, steep hills in Istanbul. The restaurant is cafeteria style, meaning you pick which dishes you want and then they will throw it on a plate and heat it up for you. I couldn’t decide what to get so I asked the man working and he was happy to help. They also have desserts in which I gladly grabbed some for the road.

Really lovely café and owners. This is more cafeteria style where you select the items you want from the cooler/display. The selected items are plated and are then placed into a microwave before being served to you. The food was really delicious, but I did have to ask the woman to put my plate back in the microwave because a lot of the items were cold. Nevertheless, once my food was warm, it was delicious. The prices are very low too.

Read moreThey had a selection of desserts- I had a delicious chocolate and biscuits dessert from the fridge. They also had cookies and baklava. Food wasn't phenomenal, but very quick and good for the price. I would recommend if you need a quick, decent meal. The staff were also lovely.
Food was heated in the microwave. I asked her to heat it a bot more as it wasn't fully warmed.

This place has been one of my favourites so far in the city. It's a very unpretentious and homey place without a menu. Instead you select 3 or 4 of the dishes they have at the counter and they combine and heat up for you. The food tasted homemade and authentic, I felt like I was in someone's home. The couple that run the place is lovely. I also had a tasty homemade kombucha. Highly recommended.

The food was really good and cooked with care. The people serving us were very friendly. They have many dishes on display and you can make a selection of 4. Traditional Turkish dishes as well as pastas, burgers, seitan etc. Healthy food as well, cooked from good ingredients. The aubergines were amazing, also the dolma and spinach pastry. We also had delicious fresh orange juice and home made combucha. Finished with baklava, Turkish coffee and a chocolate brownie to die for! All this at a very affordable price. Thank you very much! We didn’t manage to take photos of the food…we were too much in a hurry to eat it, haha! Only remembered about taking photos when we were half way through desert.

That was the first eatery we visited in Instanbul, and the experience was pretty unexpected. Nice lady at the counter explained us in English that we can create sets containing 3 or 4 components, which is great cos we were able to try 3 meals at once. The price was really low tho. Each component was a few levels higher than the versions I had eaten before. I personally recommend dolmas which were juicy, fresh & full of taste, couscous salad (even if you don't like groats & salads, for real) with some fruity ingredient which made it suprisingly delicious, and seitan which was the best seitan I've eaten in my life (and I've eaten a lot of seitan in my life). If the owners only find a better way to store falafels (which were unfortunately dry), this place will become unbeatably best eatery in Istanbul. To the owners: we really wanted to come back but the place was closed on Sunday.

Amazing! Such lovely staff and delicious food! Everything was so fresh and tasty! I was happy with my choices even if halfway I realised I got so excited by all the choices and my eyes are bigger than my stomach. I soldiered through. Ate here twice! The ravioli is a must!!! The green beans are also so delicious. Everything chosen was very pleasant and tasty. It is an especially great place to come if you are on a budget. A plate of 4 costed $4 and was filling.

Das Restaurant liegt zwar etwas ausserhalb, dennoch lohnt sich der Weg allemale! Die Inhaber sind sehr freundlich und erklären das verschiedene Essen sehr gerne. Die Auswahl an türkischen veganen Gerichten ist hervorragend, genauso gut ist der Geschmack. Ich bin sehr vom Restaurant überzeugt und komme gerne wieder.
