Cute little cafe with friendly staff and clearly plenty of regulars. You don't quite know what you're going to get as there is no menu just whatever is on offer that day. The food and drink came quickly after I sat down. It was a bit of an eclectic mix of dishes but three courses later I was stuffed! Pay by donation, what you choose. No card reader so either take cash or be prepared to make a bank transfer. Good experience overall, be prepared to just go with the flow!

We got A LOT of food. We just went with the day menu and each got soup (spinach, courgette or spicy), salad, bread, baked goods (donuts, pizza bites and potato pockets), main (combination of different veggies and fried rice) and then a dessert (what seemed to be peanut butter and strawberry syrup). All very lovely and we were very very full! Great friendly service and pay what you feel fit

We didn’t knew about the donation-system so we were a little confused at the beginning. She couldn’t speak Englisch and communication was a challenge. But in the end we had a fun experience and a good lunch. Payment as donation only in chash.

My stomach and heart are so full after this meal! What a wonderful way to eat a home cooked healthy meal. The sense of community is very apparent and you feel right at home. I would recommend bringing cash for donation, as I did not see or inquire about a way to pay with card.

C'est assez étrange quand on passe la porte, on a l'impression d'entrer dans la maison d'un inconnu. En fait, il faut juste se laisser surprendre. Pas de menu, c'est une découverte de l'entrée jusqu'au dessert. Et qu'est-ce qu'on est gâtés! Un conseil, allez-y en ayant bien faim car ils sont généreux.

A gem of a place with an excellent philosophy - Edit
I would definitely recommend going to Veganation when you're in Antwerp. The decor is lovely, the food tasty and the staff friendly. It is run by donations meaning you pay what you want for the food and they then use this money to fund workshops and classes. I will definitely be back when I'm in Antwerp again.

We didn't really feel welcome, nobody really spoke to us and explained the concept and what we're getting to eat. The place felt more like a storage place, full of boxes. The portions were quite small, more like tapas.

On the contrary, I found the staff to be extremely friendly and chatty. We were there for ages talking with them about the Veganation project, music festivals in Europe and places to visit in Belgium and the Netherlands. While the portions were small, there was so much food, and really tasty food to boot. We were stuffed at the end! I can't wait to go back.

I really love the philosophy of this place, in principle they serve you food for free and the place is only supported by donations so it’s up to you to decide the price/value of your meal.
Read moreThere is no menu, they change every day I guess according to what they have available but it’s always a 3-course meal (starter, main dish, dessert).
I struggled a little to decide the value of my meal so I probably finished up paying a lot but these guys really deserve it. At the moment they are renovating the restaurant and still serving free meals to the poorest, so if you live in Antwerp please go help them with the works!

Read moreThere is no menu, they cook everyday with the vegetables which are availbel at that day. We had soup, 3 dishes and a dessert. I have no idea which recipes I ate, but the taste was incredible! This restaurant is a must-do in Antwerp if you are someone who likes new experiences!

This place is simply wonderful. Totally different in comparison with other restaurants/bars/cafes/bistros that I've ever been before. The treatment is very special and welcoming. The place itself is like a friend's or relative's kitchen, where someone is cooking for you with all his love. You are not obligated to pay, if you don't like/want to, but I think this is unfair, cuz their project is in favour of the community. We had the entrée with a tasty vegetables soup and a soft bread, then the main course with a lot of mini portions and a "crunchy bread" (it's an Indian one, and I forgot its name), and the dessert was so good with a coconut dumpling covered with banana and apple. I liked it a lot and they offered me another one😄mi amigo venezuelano, muchas gracias desde Brasil! We also drank as much tea as we wanted. All in all, you should go, it's really special! 100% recommended!

Nice place, there is no menu, they offer daily one meal. We had indian dahl soup with fresh bread and Vegetables with buckwheat. It was very delicious!
