The best vegetarian option in Kovan

I eat here practically every week and never get bored. I especially recommend curry mutton rice, burgers, japanese dishes, and chwee kueh.

Terrible siew mai

I never had a worst siew mai experience. The herbal noodle soup and tom yum is pretty good.

Pricey food

Minced mock meat tofu & tom yum soup was good.

Sambal sweet potato leaves not nice and small portion.

Fried mock prawn with mayo so so .. and small portion too.

Pros: Lots of vegan option

Cons: On the pricey side, Limited seating

Express cafe

Good for quick food, lots of zi zar options.
However the food taste tasted ‘instant food’ to me

Close to perfection!

Excellent food portion and quality with exciting flavour. Authentic taste. Will come back for others. #Veganuary

Pros: Good quality ingredients., Variety of items to choose., Nostalgia of home-cooked food and drinks.

Cons: Expensive than usual., Limited space for dine-in., Self order at cashier counter.

a little outlet serving a wide range of dishes, sells vegetarian products too. service is slow esp during peak periods and taste is mediocre

we ordered:

N02 sliced fish bee hoon soup (add milk) $6.80 [contains dairy, non dairy option available]

**N04 herbal kuey teow soup $7

P01 mixed vegetables rice $6.80

**P04 roast chicken rice $6.80

S02 seaweed soup (add kwey teow) $7

S5 claypot bak kut teh (small) $6.50

W5 unagi bento set with jap rice $12

**: not bad, enjoyed it

to sum up, the dishes are not very spectacular, the flavours can be replicated at home. portions are reasonable. a good spot if you want more “home-cooked” flavours... not worth the price point in my opinion.

Pros: extensive menu , okay portions

Cons: pricey for mediocre taste, long waiting time, no clearly marked vegan options

Small place but extensive menu!

Small place on #2 of the Heartland Mall just next to Kovan MRT. Located next to customer service desk. Tofu, vegs, mockmeats, burgers and others. Took the "crispy fish in pineapple sauce and steamed rice". $11

Not bad

This was my second attempt at going here. The first was thwarted by them not allowing nets for orders under 15 dollars.

I got the clay pot chicken and the carrot cake. Everything was lacking salt. Other than that the spices were ok and the portion size was good. Dishes are 10 - 16 sgd.

Butter sauce frog leg is gooooood

Tried the foodie there for the first time. Ordered butter sauce frog leg, sweet potato leaves (never ordered sambal version cause mom don’t like spicy😭), kung pow yamabushitake, & fried fish w sliced ginger. Super in love with the fried dish🥰 - butter sauce frog leg is highly recommended! It’s made of mushroom!😋

Fresh and tasty!

The menu is diverse, singaporean, japanese, chinese, western food and more. They claim not to use MSG and cook freshly. We ordered burger with fries and Sweet and sour beef. Everything was super tasty and fresh. Will come back again to try other things from the menu. The prices are around 10$ per meal.

Vegetarian Food

Located in Heartland mall at Kovan. Selling variety of rice, noodles, snacks, soup..
Reasonable price.

Pros: Healthy ingredients used , Servings quite large portion

Cons: Not too spacious

Kovan outlet review

Had the mee goreng and Thai style tofu
Mee goreng too sweet, tofu can be more spicy

Pros: Lots of food choices, Clean and comfortable environment Great tea select

Cons: Average price of each dish 8$ for normal portion.

A simple breakfast @ Vegetarian Express Cafe Kova

Get to know about this new eatery while having dinner at Bishan Bus Interchange Vegetarian Stall some time ago. A little note was pasted at the store indicating that there is a new outlet at Kovan Heartland Mall.

There isn't any decent vegetarian eatery very near Kovan MRT, except for a traditional vegetarian stall at the Kovan Hougang Market & Food Centre that sells very limited varieties and it closed in the afternoon. I guess, although the price of vegetarian food in this new cafe cost a bit more that then usual hawker's fair, it could be a piece of good news to vegetarian living around this area.

This new cafe opened at 10.30am on weekday and 10am on weekend. We were there at around 9.50am and have to loiter around the mall to wait for the opening time. It would be nice, if the serving staff could allow customers to have a seat to wait and at the mean time browse through their menu.

I wanted to order the dumping soup @ S$4.80, but it wasn't ready yet and therefore I ended up having Rice Flour Rolls (Chee Cheong Fun ) at S$2.40 and a plate of Xiang Chuan Fried rice @ S$5.80. Both items were flavourful.
