Geweldig Ethiopisch eten in gezellig restaurant - Edit

Delicious - Edit
I love this place so much - used to come here all the time years ago before I became vegan and am very happy I can still eat here! I especially love how they prepare their lentils, spinach and pumpkin and that the injera is wholewheat. Also ordered the starter called "ful" which they had no problem making vegan by leaving out the feta. The portions are MASSIVE, you'll never leave hungry. Lovely and fun decor too!

Good and fulfilling food - Edit
We took the big vegetarian (actually vegan) shared plate: is a very big plate with 6/7 dips and 5 lijera (kind of African pancakes). All the dips very nice, super fulfilling. The guy in service was super kind and the restaurant is warm and cozy.

The Perfect Meal - Edit
I was super exited that the place were i ate before i went vegan, was surprisingly vegan-friendly when i had a talk with the owner. I must say: mostly the East-African cuisine though, I suggest that you skip the West part for now.
Read moreThe food is served on and with injera's (a little sour flavour which takes you by surprise) and this is also your tool to consume the rest of the foods. The Vegetarian meal for 2-persons is my favorite now because you kinda get "the best of" all the other options.
Of course it is a lot, so take someone special with you! You eat of the same plate together. Kinda romantic also😉
The taste is amazing. Where sometimes a vegan restaurant struggles to make you feel 'full' and satisfied, Viva Afrika has no trouble with this.
A nice option to eat something different. Although I wouldn't say no to a daily visit either.
Pros: Rich in flavours, Romantic atmosphere, Affordable
Cons: West-African menu is not vegan-friendly
