Not bad - Edit
I would say 3.5 stars is more accurate but I will round up. The food was decent but nothing too special. It’s got good selection of items. I had the gyoza and beyond burger. It was good but nothing life changing. Good service and nice area.

Amazing Capresse Focaccia - Edit
I love the atmosphere of Viva Chapata; it looks just like a typical tavern/bar de tapas in Madrid, but all the food is vegan. On top of that, their dishes are very good. I fell in love with their capresse focaccia (their home-made vegan mozzarella was absolutely perfect). Their Spanish tortilla is also great, though, to be honest, I don't like mixing the tortilla with the tomato sauce that comes with it; it'd prefer some natural tomato wedges as a side instead.

Nice, but not the best experience - Edit
Felt the staff wanted us to leave early to give the table to another couple, wich made our dinner a little unconfortable. Food was nice, we had milanesa and meatballs; both tasted great.

Great Vegan Find in Madrid - Edit
Another place that I found on Happy Cow! It is a very quaint little place in the Lavapies neighborhood with outdoor seating and lots of bar seating and tables indoors. They also have a wide variety of wines and liquors. I came at lunchtime, and they were still serving breakfast until 2:00 and also had a brunch and a la carte menu. If you are gluten-free, the options were a little bit limited, but everything was plentiful, flavorful, and beautifully plated. And the service was great. I highly recommend it.

Went back for their tortilla... bit disappointed versus the past but still a good option - Edit
I had in my mind some amazing memories of the first time I tried their tortilla and went back today and was a bit disappointed. Of course for the price you pay (5,5€) the portion is huge (that was basically a meal for me) and the service (from the ladies only, however...) is nice. I would say maybe try their vegan calamares bocata which is better.

Good simple breakfast spot - Edit
A more traditional casual restaurant with affordable bites. Came for a pincho de tortilla brekky (comes w a coffee or tea) and enjoyed it thoroughly. Food is simple and straightforward. Friendly atmosphere with many locals.

Incredible vegan tortilla - Edit
We had an excellent brunch at Viva Chapata, including a hot beverage, fresh orange juice, a yogurt/fruit and nuts bowl, a piece of Spanish tortilla, and a desert. Everything was delicious. The place is cute with a really nice atmosphere. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We also tried croquettes de boletus, and it was delicious as well. We definitely have to go back because there were so many options that I wanted to try !

First time trying vegan calamari! - Edit
Viva Chapata is a cozy nice vegan restaurant where I had vegan calamari for the first time. I was amazed! Very very similar to the real ones! The croquetas were really good as well. The people working there are so nice and helpful, they will answer all your questions. I recommend anyone visiting Madrid to try this place!

Un vegano más. - Edit

Good food and good service - Edit
I got the viva tortilla chapata - basically a massive sandwich filled with potato! It was really good but very filling. Plus as is common in Spain I was brought 2 pinchos (bread with tapenade/tomato and with hummus). It was super cheap too.
