Fully vegan

Everything on the menu is vegan. They have a great variety of items. Everything was good, but not mind blowing. Like all of the flavors were on point but just not strong enough. Great vibe inside and out. Tasty bevvies.

Pros: All vegan, They have alcohol, Outdoor seating

Cons: Wish it was more flavorful

Incredible Food

Our first experience at this restaurant was incredible. The service was great and the atmosphere was fun. I honestly really liked that it was a walk up to order establishment. Tons of great food options too. I really like their “Cheese Steak” vegan sandwich.

A Denver institution with friendly service

We've been eating at Watercourse since the dawn of time (or at least since its original incarnation on 13th), through ups and downs and 3 or 4 reinventions. At its highest points, it has been a runaway favorite. Since the pandemic-era challenges, our experience has been a bit inconsistent, but we’re hoping this tenacious place will flourish.

The new menu is more concise than in the past, but there’s still enough variety that most people should find something to love. We do miss the ample hearty breakfast options and fresh-squeezed juices and smoothies from back in the day, though, and hope they can find their way back in that direction.

We love the staff here. It's a colorful mix of friendly souls who take good care of their guests.

There's plenty of seating (including outdoor tables when the weather permits), but the place still tends to fill up during peak mealtimes, and sometimes there's a wait.

Finally, we appreciate that Watercourse supports charitable projects doing good work in the world (if they're still doing that).

Recommended. Enjoy!

Disappointed- but good food

The restaurant is large and well decorated.
I had dinner with a large party last week. I was disappointed when we walked in and were told we had to order at the counter. I mentioned that would be challenging due to the size of the party and the desire to order drinks and full meals. The staff decided they would offer table service. The food was good. I was a bit taken aback by the service charge that was for the managers. This is on top of the gratuity for the wait staff.

Pros: Great drinks and cocktails, Broad meal options, Clean restaurant and nice decor

Cons: Service- limited staff, Service fee just for managers. I never saw one., Food and dessert were over salted

Sad

I guess their current business model is to simply not provide service. Couldn't even place an order last time I stopped in. Sad to see how far Watercourse has fallen, used to be an amazing spot but it's little more than a ghost kitchen now.

Hope it survives

Watercourse is a Denver classic. There’s a lot of reviews about the cost cutting, and it’s true it’s not at the level it once was, but it’s still a great spot. I hope it can recover.

unrecognizable from glory days

You order from a QR code like an airport Chili's. They bring the food out on plastic trays. There is a laminated card begging you to tip. The food is overpriced and sloppily made. I assume they fired all the waitstaff to save money.

They'll close within the year at this rate. Absolute embarrassment compared to pre-pandemic. Don't waste your time or money here.

Always delicious!

I love coming here whenever we are in the area. So many good options. The restaurant has continued to evolve over time, but the quality and service never do!

Kind of downhill

This place has gone kind of downhill in the past few years in my opinion AND the prices have increased. Ordered the mushroom burrito today and it was just bland and very unexciting. I asked for hot sauce to improve the experience and it was barely spicy, the atmosphere is great but I won’t be coming back for the food anytime soon

What happened to the service

What a weird experience! We have been coming for years, and we were super disappointed that their service staff is mostly gone.
You come in, no one is there to seat you, and then at your table there are some “postcards, telling you to get your water, order online, and you have to find your own utensils!
But did the prices go down? No, same prices for a pretty unwelcoming experience.
Won’t e back until they bring their staff back.

Get the Chocolate Chip Cookie

Really lovely all vegan place that I visited twice while I was in Denver.

Between my two visits, I got the gnocchi with sweet potato sauce, the Cuban sandwich, ginger beer, and the giant chocolate chip cookie. All of it was really great, but I think the gnocchi was my favorite of the two entrees. The ginger beer is not super gingery, tastes like Fevertree. The chocolate chip cookie with sea salt is an absolute must! It comes wrapped so I took mine back to the hotel to share with my non-veg husband after he got back from his work conference dinners and he said they were the best chocolate chip cookies he'd ever had! Also, I think it's fun that the plates are made to look like wood, but aren't.

The first time I came it had been pouring rain, so the restaurant wasn't as full and it was very easy to find an open table, but the second time it was positively packed, and both times were week nights, so I suspect this place is pretty popular with the locals. I like that the ordering is done through QR code and website, since that would make it easy for groups and means you don't have to all know what you want at the same time (or, if dining solo as I was, you don't need to interact as much with staff, which is sometimes a blessing). Several members of the staff wore face masks, which I appreciated, and there were some nice paintings on the walls from local artists for sale.

If I am ever in Denver again, I think I would really like to come back here--and I'd definitely get the chocolate chip cookie every time!

Pros: QR Code Menu w/Opt. to Order as Group or Separate, All Vegan, Friendly Staff

Cons: Can be Crowded

Great Seitan wings!

The owner is super nice. I asked for more of the brie, bc I couldn't taste it in the sandwich and he brought a full extra plate!

Pros: Seitan wings, Turkey brie, Fries

Cons: Cuban

Less than fair

I heard this place was an amazing place with amazing delicious food.
Top ranked according to HappyCow.
Though last week they say table serve stopped though they did have great staff, and the manager took the time to hear the challenges.
Mac N cheez was something like buttered noodles.
The other entree was fair at best.

I hope owner upgrades rather than subtract. Make this place amazing again.

Pros: Staff were fine.

Cons: Mac n cheese

Cauliflower Wings 🤤

The tofu Caesar salad wrap was tasty, but the star of the meal was definitely the cauliflower wings — absolutely delicious and perfectly crispy.

A Denver Classic

The first restaurant I went to in Denver was the old Watercourse, located where City O' City is now. I ordered the Amsterdam Hash and loved every gravy-drenched bite of it. The Amsterdam Hash, the old booths, and even the owners are long gone now.

In it's place is a restaurant that has gone through many a metamorphosis, landing at its current incarnation sometime after Covid maybe.

It's still the place I bring my kids to when they crave hot chocolate or a milkshake. When we are craving seitan wings, we head on over. Not going to lie, though, I do miss the Amsterdam Hash. ;)

Pros: shakes, seitan wings, outside seating

Okay food, but overpriced

The food wasn’t bad but I wasn’t too impressed with portions and quality. Southern plate was okay taste-wise, nothing too special and I was still hungry after the meal. Risotto was okay too but pretty oily. There’s outdoor seating which is nice.

Pros: Outdoor seating

Cons: Too oily, Small portions

Awesome All Vegan Spot

Awesome stop with so many good options. They had several tempting sandwiches I wanted to try, but I eventually landed on the Turkey Brie sandwich with Fig Jam - which was excellent! The non-vegan in our group really enjoyed their Philly as well. 🙌🏻

(Bonus points for the vanilla cold brew the large dog friendly patio!)

Pros: Tons of Classic Sandwich Options 🥪, Dog Friendly Seating 🐶, The Best Sweet Potato Fries 😋

Cons: I’ve had better Cauli wings, pick something else!

Amazing

All the sushi I've seen for vegans was extremely boring and inauthentic. This place was a COMPLETE 180 to that. Deep, rich and varied flavors with a range of textures too, just amazing. A really treat honestly.

Yummmm

Second time here from out of state. Wanted to try a bunch of stuff, but decided on the turkey & brie sandwich. Glad I did! It was delicious, flavorful, and filling. Not something you can get everywhere. I chose a salad as my side and it was bigger than I expected. 😋 Also got a mango iced tea to drink, and they gave me a refill to go. 🙂!
