Lovely vegan breakfast, delicious stuffed mushrooms and homemade bread. Staff friendly and lovely riverside location.

Very decent vegan breakfast, good size and came with a drink. My veggie friend also really rated the eggs. Polite service and a delightful view. Would recommend!

Lovely location on the river! Plenty of vegan options (most things were vegan and all clearly marked). Food was really fresh and portions were huge! We had the doner kebab, the salad platter, coffee and a chai latte. The salad platter was really fresh and tasty. There were vegan cake and ice cream options too, which looked lovely, but we couldn't manage them!

Nice to find a fully veggie place (mostly vegan menu too)! We got the bao buns with chips and the chicken nugget wraps with salads. Plus hot chocolate with cream! Really enjoyed the food and the view of the bridge and the river is lovely. Their salad selection is great and I like that you can just ask them to select which ones! Much easier than trying to pick myself!

Every aspect of this cafe is wonderful. Magda is a fabulous and attentive host, welcoming you with open arms. The food choices are amazing, I particularly like the specials board. The wraps are always awesome.

Read moreWas happy to fond a veggie restraunt and the menu does have a good amount of vegan options. The food however was quite disappointing. Had the vegan kebab (seitan). The pita it came with wasnt fresh and very dry. The seitan overcooked and chewy. Came with some bland lentils. The other dish was off the specials board. Vegan nugget wrap. Nuggets seemed home made and were a weird, bland mash of something. Side salad was pretty good. £3.50 for a tiny bowl of chips. Service sporadic. Had to ask for table clean down and top up of cutlery and napkins on the holder. They brought out one dish and one of us had nearly eaten the first one, before they brought the other out. Not a great experience.

Lovely cafe with gorgeous views. Nice staff. Baby friendly, nice changing facilities and play area! Lovely seating areas inside and out. Loads of vegan options, great food, massive portions and good price. The best coffee!!!! We had vegan kebab, and sweetcorn curried soup, choc cake and salted caramel soya latte. Had to get an extra coffee to go as it was so nice! Couldn’t fault anything.

My Top Choice Anywhre - Edit
The Waterside Cafe has a wide range of tasty and nutritious food at reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is no noisy music. The toilets are spotless. There is a view onto the river. I haven't been in a better veggie or vegan restaurant in some years. This is my No 1 choice for a break when travelling on the M6. In fact it's probably my No 1 choice anywhere.

We stopped in for breakfast and had a very yummy plate of food. Linda McCartney onion sausages, homemade hummus, baked mushrooms and beans plus toast and a free drink included in the price.

For lunch we had the wrap and burger of the day. Loved the taste and portion size and particularly enjoyed the wide variety of salads to choose from as sides. Finished with good single origin coffee and a delicious vegan flapjack.
Would definitely be a regular if I lived in the area!

My husband and I ran in here before closing, yet were still greeted with a smile. I had a tumeric latte (10/10), tomato and basil soup (9/10 - tasted delicious but was only just warm. Bread was really good.) My husband had the sweet potato burger with various raw salads which was a solid 10/10. They had some beautiful looking cakes that we're going back to try. Toilets were spotless. All in all i would recommend this place for vegans.

Been coming here for more than a year, and always had great vegan food. Just tried their new Christmas menu, absolutely superb! We had the butternut squash roast and the nut roast, both were delicious, really tasty. Followed by the bread and butter pudding with custard which was like eating Christmas on a plate. Without doubt one of the best veggie/vegan restaurants you will find. Always great food and really nice staff. Well done Magda and team

I really enjoyed this cafe, lots of vegan options. We had the salad plate, soup, green smoothie and turmeric latte all of which was delicious. My favourite part, however, was the great little play area tucked away in a corner near some seats so my daughter could play and I could relax. Best of both worlds!

Although this place is off the beaten track I'm so glad I made the effort. Lovely clean bright welcoming space and lots of vegan options. My vegan chocolate and beetroot cake was very satisfying and my tea had real tea leaves. Wish I'd had more time to stay longer.

A wonderful discovery. Great coffee, friendly staff and lots of vegan options. Kudos to a veggie place that isn't afraid to actually use lots of veggies in their dishes! Baked mushroom, soup, and breads were tasty; the salad plate exceptionally good.

Read moreService is pretty good, often a friendly wave is needed to get the attention of a waitress but that's usually down to the fact they're so busy.
If you like speciality coffee they serve locally roasted Rinaldo's Coffee through their espresso machine. They serve both single origin and espresso blends. They also offer it through a french press too.
