best chinese takeaway i’ve had - Edit
as title says!!! even my non vegan dad who can sometimes be critical of vegan food loved it. the bai buns were amazing and rest of my family said they wouldn’t have known it was vegan. also, nice vibe in bar while waiting for takeaway and bartender was very friendly.

Favourite takeaway in Liverpool - Edit
Obsessed with the fact it’s a fully vegan Chinese takeaway as I love Chinese cuisine but usually struggle at regular takeaways. I think some of the meals can be improved with the taste such as the chow meins and dishes such as vegan sweetcorn ribs could cost slightly less with it just being sweetcorn with sauce on. However this place has never failed and I do love it. I would recommend trying here to everyone

Some good options - Edit
The prawn toast was the best dish, the spring rolls were good and the duck pancakes were also tasty. The salt and pepper tofu was a little disappointing as it wasn’t very crispy and the chilli beef wasn’t what we were expecting but it was still a decent dish.

Yummy dim sum but big bowls were a bit oily - Edit
We came here for 241 dim sum and they were amazing - we had the prawn toast, spring rolls, duck pancakes and duck bao buns. Super delicious but we were very full by the time our mains arrived! I had a beef bowl and my partner had chicken with fried rice, and the portions were MASSIVE. The food was good, but the mains were really oily and it kind of ruined it😒other than that, very delicious and very reasonably priced

So happy to finally find somewhere to get Chinese where I can be 100% certain is vegan. Woo Tan definitely didn't dissapoint. We had a big spread to make the most of being here for a couple of nights and everything we had was delicious.

Best vegan takeaway in Liverpool - Edit
Lived on the docks and Woo Tan Scran was our go to takeaway, loved that everything was vegan so didn’t have to worry about things being cooked in oil that’d be shared with meats. Only down side was that sometimes the order didn’t come with everything

If I could give them zero stars, I would 🙂 - Edit
Management don’t know what their own rules are, missing items were refused a replacement twice, told it was ‘Deliveroo’s fault’ and the items I did receive were inedible without the rest of the meal. Would never go again, was spoken to like [censored] by the ‘owners’ on multiple occasions. Joke of an establishment. Tried to blame me for requesting a refund, which was requested over half an hour after being told ‘no’ to sending out the missing items.

Actual junk food - Edit
I really want to love this place, since there aren't many 100% vegan Chinese takeaways in this area, but I was disappointed. Maybe because I don't fully understand the concept of a British-Chinese takeaway box.
Read moreI ordered the sesame 'prawn' toast and the salt n pepper box.
The sesame prawn toasts were soggy and bland. The add ons for the salt and pepper box (spring rolls, samosas, nuggets, and onion rings) were very small, although at least they were not soggy. The chips weren't golden brown - they were almost black. Perhaps because they were cooked in old oil, as previous reviews have mentioned.
all I want to do after eating these junk food is to have a juice cleanse.
Pros: Big portion
Cons: soggy, bland, greasy, pricey

I cannot rate this lower than two star - it is not two star rated - Edit
I am leaving this review as I am really disappointed and feel mislead. I really really wanted to love this takeaway. Fully vegan, small business, killing it. There is so much hype and good feedback that we were really excited to finally order from here. Please take note of the bad reviews because the same repeated criticism is correct. The food all around was bad, even the rice and noodles.
Read moreThe food is both bland and extremely salty. It’s oily and incredibly soggy. (This is not an issue relating to delivery it’s specific to the meal itself). We ordered the salt and pepper box, prawn toast, crispy beef sweet and sour, crispy tofu curry and rice & noodles. The one redeeming feature of the meal was the prawn toast - we are not sure wether this was good or just edible and seemed good due to the rest of the food being so bad.
The salt and pepper box was horrible and a soggy bland mess. Both meals seemed to consist of a bottom layer of oily stir fried vegetables (the same in each despite being different meals). The crispy tofu curry then had 6 small pieces of soggy tofu with a little curry marinade poured over, the dish itself was not saucy. The crispy beef (the beef was a schnitzel piece cut up into strips, we think it might have been a fry’s schnitzel) was so soggy and the sweet and sour sauce, again poured on sparingly, had such a strong vinegar taste it was unpleasant.
The rice and noodles were also bad, we could not work out if they were undercooked or over cooked and left to dry out. We think the latter with the rice. The only taste was too much dark soy.
I have never seen my partner not finish a takeaway or waste food. He threw all of this in the bin after we discovered it was not edible. Save your £30+ and order elsewhere.
Cons: Bad food, Waste of money, Waste of food when you throw in bin
