Veg friendly Nepal food - Edit
Ordered the dal, palak paneer and rice, and it was great. Could have been spicier.

Nice curry - Edit
Decent vegetarian options of either palak paneer, daal or vegetable curry. I got the ladies set with a curry, naan, dumplings and ice cream for dessert. Taste was alright and good price for the amount you get.

Fantastic Veg Curry - Edit
Super tasty nepalese food with lots of veg options. I had the tomato & egg curry, which is obviously not vegan, but super tasty. Veg Momo also wonderful with a similar curry sauce. They were knowledgeable enough to ask if I'm vegan, so they might have vegan options too and seem able to customize things. Non-veg options are also great if you're going with a mixed crowd.

Great service and tasty curries - Edit
The waiter was really nice and patient and told us which curries were or could be made vegetarian. We could even get a vegetarian set meal with vegetable dumplings. Which were a good size. I would recommend this place to vegetarians who want to have stray from the Japanese food for a night.

Ok alternativ for Vegans - Edit
We went there because all the other vegan options were closed or had a long queue. One of the owners (?), an older woman was very friendly and knew whats vegan in their menue and spoke good english.

Okay - Edit
Because everything else in the area had a HUGE queue we ended up at this place. Even coco ichibanya and other chain stores had waiting lists. The poor lady serving us at Yak & Yeti seemed very stressed, it was a busy night. The food was okay, but there should definitely be better Indian places around!

It's an interesting option - Edit
Personally I didn't find the food as good as other places around but the service was really good and they understood really well English and the point the vegan options really clearly.
Read moreThe tempura was good but isn't exactly tempura in my knowledge, it closer to a falafel.
Pros: Really good English

Average nepali food - Edit
We went here for dinner as nothing else was open/available at 8pm. We had the vegan chowmein and the cashew based vegetable curry. Both dishes were ok but nothing mindblowing. Service took longer than expected.

Excellent - Edit
If you're visiting Kyoto, there's about a 100% chance you'll go to Nishiki Market. This place is the closest restaurant that has lots of veg options.

Located near Nishiki market, the place is really handy. At lunch they have a specific menu of set, ask for the Vegan version of the one you desire.
