Loved it! - Edit
Had knishes with mushroom and plain. They were recommended by a friend and wonderful. Worked both fresh&hot and cold later at night. Also, I think this was by far the least expensive food so far. I can relate why this location is celebrated. - (For perspective on the neighborhood back when the Knishery was founded in 1910 check out tenement museum.)

Tasty treats - Edit
Delicious knish with plenty of vegan options, clearly marked! Mostly savoury but I had the sweet apple and it was great! Check this place out

Yummy knish - Edit
Great place! Over half the knish options are vegan. They no longer have indoor seating but there is a nice park just around the corner from them. Highly recommend.

Fun spot to try savory knishes - Edit
Their options aren't labeled inside but their website specifies which knish are vegan. I had their spinach, which was good.

Warming and tasty - Edit
There were only two kinds of vegan knish when we went in. We tried the potato one. You could add mustard on top (recommended). It was warm and tasty. Not much to it, but just what was wanted. The venue is tiny and has no seats but there’s a park right nearby you can sit down at.

Cons: Nothing labelled as vegan, Not many options available

Century-old knishery - Edit
Yonah Schimmel's is a tiny, hole-in the wall place where they sell knishes and similar items for takeout. This place is world-famous, a NYC landmark--which you wouldn't guess from the modest looks of the store.
Read moreThis is all vegetarian, but most of the item seem to be non-vegan. However, they do have a number of vegan potato knishes, so if you want a taste of history, this is a good place to visit.
Pros: World-famous knishes., A Taste of history
Cons: They sell mostly just knishes, and not all vegan

Not sure - Edit
I am not sure how knish is supposed to taste like, it was my first time. I tried a potato knish and didn't like it at all. Might be a taste thing but I prefer to be honest.

I love this place since long before I became vegan. - Edit
This is a must for anyone who wants a kanish. The apple and potato are my favorites. Just don't get the Danish style as they are dairy.

I honestly cannot believe these are vegan. We had the potato one and kasha one. Both were great and the kasha have me total nostalgia.

Delicious Knishes! - Edit
Great Knishes. Just double check as few aren't vegan but most are. Two and I was stuffed. Mushroom one is yum.

Both history and delicious food - Edit
The knishes are really tasty, and it's really a neat spot to go to. I mean, its been there since 1910! There is some seating so you can get your knishes to eat there or get them to go. They ask for a minimum for credit card purchases, I think it was $10. So keep that in mind because the knishes are quite cheap if you only get one or two.

Delicious Knishes! - Edit
All of the non-cheese knishes here are vegan! My fiance and I tried the spinach and sweet potato knishes, both were good, even better with mustard, and very filling. If you love potatoes, you need to go. The staff were very polite, and this Yonah Schimmel's is a wonderful remnant of old new york, it's one of those rare gems gentrification hasn't touched. There's an old dumb waiter and the original tin ceiling is still there, it just gives me a nice feeling when I'm so used to seeing well loved old places torn down and turned into hipster nonsense. I plan on coming back and trying every vegan knish on their menu, and probably buying a dozen to freeze at home!!
