Gute vegane Spätzle - Edit
Wir haben uns zweimal die veganen Käsespätzle bestellt. Die Portionen sind sehr groß und wir haben es nicht geschafft, konnten es uns aber einpacken lassen. Insgesamt waren mir die Spätzle etwas zu flüssig, aber der Geschmack war sehr gut. Die Bedienung war auch sehr freundlich und das ganze Lokal ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Es gab im Allgemeinen eine sehr große Auswahl an veganen Gerichten und als Nachtisch sogar einen Brownie mit Mangosorbet.

Great to find vegan Spätzle in this traditional restaurant. Really cozy area and all dishes have vegan options. Unfortunately I wasn't very impressed by the Spätzle itself.

They offer traditional dishes and you can order all of them vegan - so I was told. I opted for the vegan “Kasspätzle” with onion. The place is super cozy, I was lucky to get a seat outside. I was expecting a bit more taste wise. I’d go back, only to try other dishes from the menu.

Es gibt sowohl schwäbische Gerichte mit Fleisch, als auch komplett vegan. Ich hatte sie Linsen mit Spätzle und Seitan Wiener und war richtig begeistert! Hat geschmeckt wie früher bei meiner Mama. Die nicht veganer waren mit ihren Gerichten auch super zufrieden.

Never having had spätzle (small, round pasta/noodle) I was really excited to try it.
Read moreThere are many different varieties to choose from, all of which can be made vegan. I opted for one with sauerkraut, which was delicious. All come with a side salad that was nice and fresh, with an in-house vegan dressing.
Portions are very large and affordable at around €10.
The restaurant is small but cozy, some of the tables are very close to each other so could be difficult for some people. Staff are friendly and service quick.

Honestly, I had high expectations of this place because of all the good reviews. I don't know if they were having a bad day, but... it. was. horrible. I don't know what I got, but it was not spätzle. First, they mixed up the order. My friend (non-vegan and German, so no possible language mix up) asked for cheese and onions on his spätzle. They added on mine. We were too hungry to care, so we just ate it. Do not order vegan cheese on yours. What you get is this horrible mushy cheese monster. The entire time I felt I was eating a whole block of vegan cheese, with nothing else. I guess it's good if you really like that cheese? But there's such thing as too much of one thing, and this was not, by any means, good vegan cheese. Also, my friend's sauce was way too salty. The food felt like it was thrown into a microwave and warmed up.

Read moreThe vegan cheese spätzle are VERY oily, this is typical for the traditional dish and not a bad thing. If you're not used to it however maybe choose a different variation. I struggled to get down the whole portion, but got to take the rest away with me in a paper container. 😁

Read moreI always try to come here when I visit Hamburg as this is the local cuisine of my childhood and it's hard to find a vegan version of it in Northern Germany - in my opinion it's super authentic, everything is handmade and tastes absolutely delicious!
If possible this would be a 5-star place for me.

Spätzle is a very typical Southern-German dish, usually made with eggs - here, up north, it is very surprising to find them being offered as a vegan option. The shop is small and cozy, the portions filling and if you don't know the dish, you should definitely go and try it here as a vegan cultural experience.

This cute, small restaurant offers plenty of tasty vegan options for their Spätzle. They put a lot of vegan cheese on their Spätzle (if you order your Spätzle with it) and it‘s yummy, just a lot, a lot a lot! The portion size of the dish was also very generous and most definitely filling and the food came really quickly. Can recommend this place to someone looking for a comforting, homey and more „traditional“ food.
