I am vegan for one simple reason and that is the cruelty and violence that is inflicted upon animals at the hands of human beings. I don't want to be a part of it and I certainly don't want to fund it. While the health benefits of veganism are many, they are to me merely a bonus as I would choose a compassionate vegan diet even if it was as unhealthy as eating meat and dairy.
