Instructions
Heat oil in a frying pan. Add cumin seeds, bay leaves & cinnamon stick.
As cumin seeds begin to sputter add chopped onions and sauteed until golden brown. Keep some chopped onions and tomatoes for garnishing.
Add crushed garlic and grated ginger.
After few minutes add tomatoes and cook for another 5-8 minutes.
Mix turmeric powder, garm masala & salt and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
Add garbanzo beans and mix it well.
Add 1 cup of water and cook on low heat for 10 to 15 minutes.
This will give some time for garbanzo beans to absorb all the spices.
Now mix chana masala and then sprinkle with chopped onions and tomatoes and cilantro.
