    Instructions

    1. Press the tofu
    2. Rip the tofu into small pieces
    (or dice, but ripping gives better texture & helps absorb the marinade)
    4. Put tofu into a bowl
    5. Add oil and soy sauce, mix well
    6. Add corn starch, mix well
    7. Preheat oven to 220 degrees celcius
    8. Spread tofu evenly on a baking tray
    9. Bake tofu for 18 minutes on the top rack, turn pieces halfway through cooking

    10. Chop green onions, separate white & green parts, grate garlic & ginger, dice the bell pepper, cut chilis into small pieces, and remove the seeds depending on how hot you want
    11. Heat oil in a pan
    12. Add the white parts of the green onions, garlic and ginger, saute for 1-2 minutes
    13. Add the bell pepper, chilis and peanuts, saute for 3-5 minutes
    14. Add hoisin sauce, rice vinegar and soy sauce to the pan, mix and saute for 2-3 minutes
    15. Dissolve the corn starch in the water
    16. Add the mixture to the pan and simmer for 2-3 minutes, depending on how thick you want the sauce to be
    17. Turn of the heat, stir in the tofu, sesame oil and the green parts of the green onions
    Serve and enjoy!

    Ingredients

    1 block tofu (200g)
    1/2 tbsp neutral oil
    1/2 tbsp soy sauce
    1 1/2 tbsp corn starch
    2 green onions
    3 cloves garlic
    1 tsp ginger
    1 bell pepper
    3 chilis
    40g roasted & salted peanuts
    1 tbsp hoisin sauce
    1 tbsp rice vinegar
    1 tbsp soy sauce
    1/4 cup (60ml) water
    1/2 tbsp cornstarch
    1/2 tsp sesame oil
    Rice to serve (optional)
