Fully vegan little supermarket - Edit
Touted as a 'fully vegan supermarket', which is technically true but a tiny bit of an overstatement. It is actually a small fully vegan supermarket and it has lots and lots of choices concerning meat/cheese/baking-ingredients - alternatives. It also offers a good salad bar, vegan pastries, chips, sweets, to-go foods, drinks etc... Truly a gem, because this is the place youll also find the more rare stuff you'd otherwise have to order online such as juicy marbles. And it's nice for a change to not have to read all the ingredients-labels!
Read moreRight next to it is a big (regular) Billa Plus that also has lots of choices and lets you do all your regular shopping as well. Additionaly, there is also a small food court that offers even more food with various vegan options.
Tje store is located directly on Mariahilferstraße, in the basement of the Gerngross shopping building.

Ein Traum einkaufen gehen zu können, ohne die Zutaten checken zu müssen! Gute Auswahl an Grundnahrungsmitteln & fancy Produkten. Nicht nur Bio Produkte 👍🏼

An sich eine gute Sache, aber... - Edit

Great to work and eat Leberkäse - Edit
Ideal place to work with free and fast wifi in the dining area. You can pick up items from the entirely vegan supermarket such as prepared filled rolls and eat while working.
Read moreI love the vegan Leverkäse “Gustl” you can order at the hot food section in a fresh roll for around 2-3 Euros.
Excellent for tight budgets! #Veganuary

small but much to explore - Edit
i found many vegan products here i have never seen before, also from food start-ups, i guess. i don't know whether some of these things can also be found in other austrian supermarkets, but i found it very interesting to check out all of the products.
Read morethey also had a couple products with discounts, i think because the mhd was close to expiry.
still, it's true that some things are rather basic. don't know whether it's cheaper/more expensive than in regular billa supermarkets.

So much to choose from! - Edit
A little fully plant-based store with a huge variety from all kinds of snacks, condiments and everything you need. They have a salad bar, a nut butter machine and a beer tap.

Great idea, but takeaway is awful - Edit
Love the concept of a fully vegan supermarket, but it is rather small.
Read moreThe takeaway options are pretty bland, and the salads at the salad bar are waaaay too salty. I like a good amount of salt, but this was really not edible. Also the schnitzel in the schnitzel semmel was raw!
Edit:
NOT COMPLETELY VEGAN! At the takeaway section, they have salads with cheese. Vegans need to check the labels, which defeats the point of this kind of store.

Cons: Too salty, unedible salad, Raw schnitzel, Not fully vegan

super cool idea - Edit
I already knew many products from normal supermarkets but it was just very cool to be able to buy stuff without checking the ingredients. Also they have a vegan salad bar, which I haven't seen in any other supermarkets yet. We got some snacks and sandwiches for a breakfast in the park and were really happy with it😄

Outstanding! Widest choice I've ever seen, cheaper than most too. - Edit
It's like a tardis, bigger than it looks, a massive selection of chilled, frozen, and long-life products - far more than any vegan supermarket I've ever seen anywhere in the world. Liveable, too - options at many price points, not all stratospherically expensive (I'm looking at you in Paris, Naturalia Vegan). It's as if Tesco or Carrefour opened a fully vegan branch. Absolutely incredible that it exists - I wish we had the like in London. As for the staff, the guy serving couldn't have been better.

Vegan Supermarket - Edit
Super cute little vegan Supermarket. Visited for 1 day. It's a super cool idea, not having the urge to check individual products. When I was there they gave samples of a vegan salmon to try, which was really good. Ended up buying a pack afterwards 🤭

Horrible staff. - Edit
Tried to take pics to show people what was here and some nasty lady ran up telling me to stop taking pics and delete all that I have taken. I politely tried to explain why I was taking pics but was met with hostility. Never encountered such a nasty staff person in almost 500 reviews.

I wish we had this where I live! - Edit
When we arrived in Vienna we were so excited that this supermarket is close to our hotel. Luckily we had a small fridge at the hotel so we stocked up on breakfast foods, cold drinks and snacks. They also have a salad bar and pre made sandwiches to go. For vegan tourists who can’t speak German this place is a godsend! We weren’t cooking our own meals so we didn’t even venture into the rest of the supermarket.

Since I started being vegan I always wished I could go to a normal grocery store where everythings is vegan. This is the closest I've been! Every other vegan store feels more like a specialty product store, but this was like going shopping in a normal grocery store💗

Vegan world - Edit
Spectacular place where you can grab anything without asking if it is vegan or not, without explaining that honey is not vegan, without asking to prepare something only with vegetables or to remove the cheese. There is also nuts presser, where you can do your own vegan Nutella, and a buffet with salads to build your bowl, also tons of pastries and snacks!
